The Department of Homeland Security needs to clarify its position here without delay. CAIR advised Muslim women in the press release quoted here that:

"Instead of the pat-down, you can always request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area"...

Two facts should be self-evident to demonstrate how outrageous this idea is. First, the whole point of being searched by someone else is to find concealed objects. A "self-pat-down" clearly defeats that purpose and is a completely unacceptable lapse in security. Let's remember the stakes here: if something goes wrong in air security in the wrong place at the wrong time, people die. There is enough margin for error in the system already without adding this variable.

Secondly, the fact that Napolitano could even be considering such a measure highlights a double standard for special treatment that would not be considered for any other religious group, but is extended to Muslims without a second thought. What is going on here is a politically correct sort of anti-profiling: by all appearances, the air security apparatus bends over backwards to profile Muslims as not being a threat, in a way that it does not strive to reassure other demographic groups in the traveling public.

We are told time and again that Muslims in America just want to be treated like everyone else. Ergo, if you want equal treatment as a Muslim woman, participate in your social responsibilities equally even when it is awkward or inconvenient, rather than acting like some kind of demigoddess whose head and neck are untouchable by sullied human hands in the screening line. Your head and neck are as human as that of the next non-Muslim lady in line who is no more thrilled to be there than you are.

But let's remember why we're standing there waiting with our shoes in a plastic bin, and why so many security procedures have come into being in the first place: Islamic jihadists keep trying to bring down our planes, more and more with explosives concealed on their bodies.

With the holidays fast approaching, the Transportation Safety Agency has announced new security procedures requiring passengers selected for secondary screening to go through a machine that produces a full body scan producing a nude but grainy, black and white image. Passengers choosing to opt out of the scan will face a full body pat.

The problems these security measures pose should be discussed in the interest of the entire traveling public, pilots, and flight attendants, and not as the problem of one group.

The head of Homeland Security has indicated the government is considering the request of an Islamic organization that has suggested Muslim women be allowed to pat themselves down during a full body search that is part of new enhanced procedures at airports.

Since implementing the procedures, numerous complaints have arisen that the search is not a "pat-down" but rather feeling and grabbing along a person's genitalia and other areas until they meet resistance. Critics have said the pat-downs would be considered sexual assault if performed elsewhere.

The TSA defends the procedures as necessary in light of last years "underwear bomber" and the recent issues involving printer cartridges being used in an attempt to blow up cargo planes.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, has expressed concern with the TSA over the regulations and recommended special procedures for dealing with Muslim women. The organization issued a travel advisory for Muslims over the procedure.

In the advisory CAIR advises all Muslims to contact them and file a complaint with the TSA if they experience any "disturbing incidents" with the new procedures and they feel they have been unfairly singled out for screening.

It goes on to make special recommendations for Muslim women wearing a hijab covering their face. The advisory says women are to inform the officer they are only to pat down the head and neck and says "They should not subject you to a full-body or partial body pat-down." They also recommend that women should be permitted to pat themselves down and "have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands."

Países islâmicos querem que a ONU aprove o crime de "blasfémia"

O diário Minuto Digital informa que a Assembléia das Nações Unidas já recebeu o pedido de 57 países muçulmanos, para que a organização aceite o "crime de blasfêmia". Entre os países que fizeram a petição estão Arábia Saudita, Irã, Sudão, Iêmen, Turquia e Paquistão, todos querem que essa nefasta lei seja aprovada pela ONU.

Essa lei classifica a blasfêmia como crime, podendo levar até a pena capital. No Paquistão quem "blasfemar" contra o nome de Maomé, pode ser condenado a forca. Recentemente uma dessa condenações ganhou repercussão em todo o mundo, é o caso de Asia Bibi, condenada a morte por blasfemar contra o "profeta".

E como fica a Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos, aprovada pela mesma ONU em 1948?

Eis mais um passo do Islã na islamização do mundo, se ninguém se opor a suas conquistas, as consequências para a civilização ocidental serão terríveis!

A suposta coascendência de Abraão

Os muçulmanos, em modo de taqiyya ou simplesmente ignorantes sobre a sua religião, e os não-muçulmanos, quase sempre ignorantes - das espécies de ignorância a mais perniciosa, porque se supõe informada -, falam de uma suposta coascendência espiritual abraânica entre islão, judaísmo e cristianismo. De acordo com essa tese, as três seriam religiões abraânicas e esta ascendência espiritual comum seria um ponto de contacto a explorar no sentido de chegar a um clima mais pacífico de convivência entre os fiéis das três religiões.

O problema é que a tese é falsa: o islão é descendente de Abraão mas de um modo bastante diferente do judaísmo e do cristianismo.
Quem expõe as diferenças brilhantemente é Jaques Ellul, de quem já falámos aqui, num livro onde aborda o que chama "os três pilares do conformismo", a saber, para além da referida suposta coascendência, que são três "religiões do livro" e três "religiões monoteístas".

Mas a entrada infra trata apenas da primeira questão (não a esgota) e não das outras.

Concluo concordando com Marisol: não vale a pena fazer aproximações baseadas em falsidades, ou seja, construir em solo arenoso. Acrescento que o ponto de contacto com os muçulmanos hão-de ser as suas qualidades humanas, enquanto não corrompidas pela religião que professam.

This year's Eid greetings say, in part:

On Eid, Muslims around the world will commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son, and distribute food to those less fortunate -- a reminder of the shared values and the common roots of three of the world's major religions.

Less informed Americans will read that and recall the account of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice Isaac, Abraham's son by Sarah and a Biblical patriarch of the Jewish people. On the other hand, in one of its efforts to demote Jews in its Islamic supremacist ordering of life, the universe, and everything, the Qur'an holds that the son in this account was not Isaac, but Ishmael. That's a rather significant jab at "the common roots of three of the world's major religions."

Does this mean Obama is a practicing Muslim behind the White House walls and the mask is slipping? No.

But it is noteworthy in that it is sloppy. If it is intentional, it is disingenuous. If it is unintentional, it is alarmingly bumbling. In either case, it is symptomatic of a policy based on a glossing over of differences, and on lofty but false assumptions of common values, and compatible ideals of human rights and dignity. And the rest of that paragraph only continues to demonstrate all of those issues.

Utterly ignoring Islam's teachings on the subjugation of women and non-Muslims, cruel and unusual punishments prescribed in the Qur'an, the death penalty for apostasy, and other abuses that hold many Muslim societies in arrested development and threaten human rights in the West does not make those teachings go away. Nor does it do away with the widespread human suffering caused by them.

Wishful thinking is an alarming basis for policy, whether economic, diplomatic, or for national security. And as the old military adage cautions: "Hope is not a method." Read more at www.jihadwatch.org

¿Por qué los cristianos callan?  Por Barry Rubin Los cristianos en Irak han sido, y no por primera vez, blanco de un grave y premeditado ataque terrorista. Desde Indonesia a Pakistán e Irak, desde la Franja de Gaza a Egipto, Sudán y Nigeria, los cristianos están siendo asaltados, intimidados y asesinados por militantes musulmanes.  Sin embargo, los cristianos en cualquiera de estos países - tal vez con algunas excepciones ocasionales en la India – prácticamente nunca atacan a musulmanes. En Occidente, no se han producido ni ataques terroristas ni asesinatos premeditados en contra de musulmanes. No existe ni siquiera un solo grupo que promueva este tipo de comportamiento. ¿Ha visto algo de esto en los medios de comunicación occidentales? ¿Se ha mencionado a alguno de esos grupos de la Iglesia cristiana - que siempre encuentran tiempo para criticar a Israel- siquiera mencionar este ataque sistemático? De hecho, en las raras ocasiones en que se menciona la emigración de los cristianos, siempre se culpa a Israel, como lo demostró recientemente una red de noticias norteamericana. Sir Peter Maxwell Davies has declared that he will no longer wear a poppy or attend Remembrance Day ceremonies honouring the wear dead because doing so would “legitimise” the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Master of the Queen’s Music insists that he doesn’t intend any disrespect to our war dead. But his misrepresentation of our national commemoration does indeed insult the fallen – and it insults the Queen, too, who wore a poppy this morning as she laid a wreath at the Cenotaph. “Max” is entitled to hold any opinion he likes: thanks to those who gave their lives for freedom, no one will arrest him for his attempt to politicise Remembrance Sunday. But there’s a sharp dissonance between his attention-seeking remarks – which, whether he admits it or not, claim moral superiority over the Queen – and the Royal office he holds. Greek town becomes flash point in effort to halt Muslim immigrants

NEA VISSA, GREECE - This little farming town on the edge of Europe, where the crosses of Greek Orthodox churches face Turkey's minarets scarcely a mile away, has become the latest battleground in the continent's war against a flood of unwanted immigrants from the strife-torn Muslim world.

The European Union's joint border patrol force, Frontex, dispatched armed international guards last week to reinforce Greek patrols around Nea Vissa, seeking to seal an eight-mile stretch of frontier that has become the main corridor for illegal entry into Europe for thousands of fortune-seeking Afghans, Iraqis, Iranians, Pakistanis and North Africans. The 200-member pan-European deployment marked the first such Frontex operation along the borders of one of the European Union's 27 member nations. Greek officials called it a belated recognition that the onrush of immigrants here is a problem that must be dealt with by all of Europe.

The French immigration minister, Eric Besson, said the posting of French and other foreign border guards should be seen as a sign of determination by Europe to stanch the flow. "France is totally mobilized to struggle with Greece against the networks that exploit immigrants in defiance of the most basic humanitarian laws," he said on a quick visit to the border.

The growing presence of immigrants, particularly Muslims who bring with them their own customs and religious practices, has become one of the main irritants in Western European societies. Immigration has become a prominent and sometimes sour part of the political debate even in countries with long liberal traditions, including Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and France.

Over the bridges

Nea Vissa, surrounded by cotton and garlic fields in a tongue of Greek territory lying between Bulgaria and Turkey 350 miles northeast of Athens, is where the trouble begins. Most of the 160-mile Greece-Turkey border is defined by the Evros River as it winds down to the Aegean Sea, making passage difficult. But a quirk of history has placed the line a little west of the river, meaning illegal immigrants can cross the waterway over bridges on the Turkish side and sneak across the border in relative safety on dry land.

Greek authorities calculate they arrested about 45,000 illegal immigrants in the first half of the year, most of them near here, accounting for 90 percent of the illegal immigrants taken into custody in all of Western Europe. As many as 350 illegal immigrants a day were being captured in the Evros Valley farmlands around Nea Vissa, according to Maj. Athanasios Kokkalakis of the Interior Ministry.

Besides those taken into custody, at least 15 percent more evade Greek authorities, he said. For almost all, the goal is travel onward - to Italy, France, Germany, Britain and Scandinavia - in search of new homes in societies where the economies are strong, the social welfare systems are generous and, above all, there are no wars.

Turkey, the other stepping stone, has refused to allow arrested immigrants to be sent back across the border, except nationals of countries with land borders with Turkey. This excludes the bulk of those taken into custody, who are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and, increasingly, North Africa.

Turkish officials have noted their country is only a way station, and that they are as much a victim of the immigrant flood as Greece and the other E.U. countries.

Captured immigrants from those countries are taken to Interior Ministry detention centers for processing. Because of crowding, most are freed after a few days with an order to return home within two months. Typically, specialists said, they tear up the order and go on their way.

"It is a cat-and-mouse game," said Robert Dutfchmann, 28, a German Federal Police inspector patrolling outside Nea Vissa with Frontex colleagues.

Charges against Turkey

Turkey has become the source of so many Europe-bound illegal immigrants mainly because of geography, which places two wars near its borders, in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with a large dissatisfied population in Iran. But Greek authorities charge it indirectly facilitates the flow by refusing to take most captured illegal immigrants back and, as part of its pan-Muslim policies, granting entry without visas to planeloads of would-be emigrants from Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. The roundabout travel by North Africans in some ways is a tribute to a Frontex operation that began last year. Several European nations dispatched patrol boats to the Aegean to block delivery of illegal immigrants by sea. As Piruz found out, that left Nea Vissa. Piruz, a 20-year-old Afghan, has made it as far as Istanbul on what he hopes will be a journey to Sweden for medical studies. On an animated square in Istanbul's Zeytiburnu neighborhood, he held a long conversation the other night with an immigrant smuggler. The sea is too dangerous, the smuggler told him, but for $1,000 crossing is possible over the Evros River. A smuggler will accompany you in a rowboat across the water, the young man was told, and for extra money will get you to Athens. "I had some friends who went to France, and they got expelled right away," said Piruz, who wanted to be identified by his first name only. "But the Scandinavian countries are easier. They accept you."

Greece and its European neighbors have widely advertised the Frontex operation, with international border guards posing for television cameras. On one hand, the deployment is a celebration of European solidarity, an easy sell politically in most E.U. countries. On the other, authorities hope, news that patrols have been reinforced could produce a crackdown by Turkish border guards on the other side of the river and perhaps encourage smugglers to lie low. There is some indication it is working. Authorities said arrests have dropped to between 75 and 100 in the days since Frontex patrols began. The deployment is to last at least two months and be evaluated to see whether it will be extended. But Kokkalakis says everyone knows that deploying extra border guards will not solve the problem.

"They want to close the border, but it is impossible," said Wajeed Sherifi, an Afghan who sneaked into Greece and has remained as an activist for immigrant rights. "It is like water. The immigrants will just find another channel." Agreeing in their own way, Frontex officials pointed out that nearby Bulgaria will become part of the E.U.'s unrestricted, visa-less travel space early next year. Its 200-mile border with Turkey will make it the logical spot for immigrant smugglers to try next - and perhaps the next destination for Frontex guards.

Hoje 11 de novembro é o dia do Armistício, o aniversário simbólico do fim da primeira guerra mundial. A medida que milhões de britânicos faziam silêncio em memória dos soldados britânicos que morreram na guerra, os muçulmanos do país romperam o silêncio com a violência. Membros de um grupo chamado "Muçulmanos Contra as Cruadas" (Muslims Against Crusades), entraram em confronto com a polícia em Londres. Quando o relógio marcou 11 horas eles começaram a queimar cartazes e gritarem: "Os soldados britânicos queimarão no inferno". Eles seguravam faixas grandes que diziam: O Islão irá reinar! Nossos mortos estão no paraíso, seus mortos estão no inferno! Em seu web site o grupo exibe fotos de crianças feridas em guerras e da tortura de presos de Abu Ghraib. O protesto reuniu cerca de 50 pessoas, enquanto outros que eram contra a ação foram separadas para evitar confrontos. Abro aqui um parêntese para os trechos: "Os soldados britânicos queimarão no inferno"... "Nossos mortos estão no paraíso, seus mortos estão no inferno!" Percebam nos trechos em negrito que, mesmo sendo britânicos (alguns naturalizados) estes não se consideram como tal, eles se consideram apenas como muçulmanos, assim como o terrorista Faisal Shahzad que não se considerava paquistanês, muito menos americano, apenas dizia: "Sou um soldado Muçulmano"! Oslo: Iran 'preparing Muslims for action'

Iran finances mosques and sends imams to Norway. Here they preach hatred against the West. The aim is to prepare Norwegian Muslim ideological to carry out terror attacks, if they'll be ordered to do so one day, a source told Norwegian broadcaster NRK.

Saudi Arabia is not the only one who finances the building of mosques in Norway. In the battle to win the hearts of European Muslims with a very conservative extremist version of Islam, Iran also finances mosques and sends imams here. Norwegian Muslims are being prepared for action. "The imams here come from Iran. They interpret the Koran for us and teach people the religious rules. They also give guidance in social situations," says Ali Reza Moaddeli.

Iran's theocracy sends imams

He's a board member in the Norwegian Imam Ali Center in Oslo, a mosque with about 200 members. The mosque is closely linked to the Iranian theocracy and several times a year gets imams which are chosen and sent here by Iran's theocracy. The imams live in a room in the mosque while they're in Norway. They belong to the Ahl-ul Beyt mission organization, a Shia-Muslim institution headed by Iran's supreme leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It was this organization which bought the mosque's premises in Tveita in Oslo in 2005. [See also:Copenhagen: City council approves plans for Grand Mosque]

Three sources told NRK of the close links between several mosque in Oslo and Iran, and what messages are conveyed to Norwegian Muslims. None of the sources wanted to be named, two due to fears for their safety, one because he didn't want to spoil his relations with the Iranian regime. "Imam Ali Center has imams from Iran who promote attitudes we don't want in Norway. An imam in this mosque that I spoke with, said that the Iranian opposition was infected by Zionists. He used an example that when women dispute man's right to beat their wives, it's Jews infiltration," one of the sources told NRK. The Imam Ali Center website links to Iranian sites with antisemitic content.

Deny the Holocaust and that Muslims are behind 9/11

Ali Reza Moaddeli thinks freedom of speech is abused in Norway when it's permitted to print caricatures of the prophet, but didn't want to discuss the scope of the killing of Jews during WWII. "It's not Norwegian values which make it difficult to be a Muslim in Norway, it's a misinterpretation of these values, such as freedom of speech. It's OK to curse the prophet and hurt a billion people, and at the same time you can't discuss the Holocaust. It's a bit strange," he says. Q: What do you think of the Holocaust? "I have no overview of history. I am not engaged in that. But as I see it, what is said about the Holocaust isn't right. I think the same about 9/11. I'm completely certain that it wasn't Muslims who were behind the 9/11 attacks," says Moaddeli. He told NRK that the USA built up al-Qaeda and that Bin Laden was originally an American agent in Afghanistan when the country was fighting against the Soviet Union. Moaddeli lives in Oslo. He thinks Norway is a country where the norms and values correspond with Muslim values, except when it comes to alcohol and the hijab. He denies that the Imam Ali Center's Iranian imams convey a political message. Q: An imam in the mosque said that the Iranian opposition in Iran is influenced by Jews. What's your comment to that? "It's a lie. The imams that come here don't say a word about politics," answers Moaddeli.

Dangerous hate-propaganda

"The hate propaganda against the West is a symptom of inner weakness in the Iranian regime. The Iranian regime suffers from Zionist-paranoia. They see the American-supported Jewish Zionism behind all kinds of movements they don't like," says Islam expert at the Norwegian School of Theology, Jan Opsal He stresses that this hate propaganda can be dangerous. "It can mean legitimizing violent attacks against Western targets. The propaganda can also stimulate the formation of small and closed groups who are willing to act on the basis of the hatred which is being built up," says Opsal. He says that in a meeting with a representative of the regime in Iran, he got confirmation that Iran had an ambition to dominate the Asiatic part of the Middle East, both politically and religiously. Q: What consequences can there be from the fact that Iran buys mosques and sends imams here with their message? "It means that they get a beachhead in this part of the West. Basically, most Iranians in Norway are critical of the regime, but we've seen in many contexts that the regime is very engaged with following up on what happens in the Iranian exile-community," says Opsal.

Did you know I love theology? Yes, it’s a fact.  But it’s not just any theology I love, but any one of a whole boatload of false theologies.  And when I say a boatload, I’m talking cruise ship—big, comfortable, and full of smiling people trying to escape reality, if only for a moment. You see, there is one way to get theology right, and about a gajillion ways to get theology wrong to one degree or another.  As an astute student, professor, and promoter of wrong theologies, I’ve always been amused at how easy it is to propagate false gospels, counterfeit Jesus’s, and overall flawed theologies.  It’s easy because I’ve observed a great propensity of all humans to adapt their theology (and all human beings have one) to their personal taste, sort of like making God in man’s own image. Don’t like God? (I don’t either). Then adopt the theology of atheism.  Done! Don’t like the thought of Hell?  (Careful now).  Then adopt a theology of universal salvation.  Done! Have a little sin that you are quite fond of practicing?  Then adopt a theology in which God is equally fond, if not more so, of the same little sin.  Done! See how easy it is?  There’s a theology for every lifestyle.  And here’s the best part: I approve of virtually all of them! Yes, that’s right!  Unless you are diligent and wise, your theology is very likely to please not only yourself, but me as well, making both of our daily lives easier. To illustrate a theology that has been tailored to the sin of its possessor, let me introduce Bishop Gene Robinson.  Now Mr. Robinson is not one of my own, but he has been taken captive to certain of my wiles and has adopted a personal theology that pleases me, and, happily, one which also distorts the theological views of those whom I hate most. Mr. Robinson expressed his views (and mine) precisely in a recent Huffington Post piece entitled, “How Religion is Killing Our Most Vulnerable Youth.” Hey, I love the title!  I love killing, and if I can enlist religion to do it, all the better.  But the title was only the beginning;  Robinson, who is an openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church, rails against “religious voices” that denounce LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] people.” Denouncing people?  Yes, there are some religious voices that do that, but they are usually mine.  I do recall Jesus denouncing certain religious people, and scripture warns those who insist on sinning in ways that would prevent them from entering the kingdom of heaven.  But for the most part God’s religious voice (much to my eternal chagrin) denounces the sin, not the sinner.  I hate the sinner and love the sin.  So, if anyone is denouncing people, they are probably doing my work.  Leave them alone.  But I do give Mr. Robinson credit for effectively distorting the theology of those I abhor! Mr. Robinson says that gay kids growing up in “conservative denominations” are “told day in and day out that they are an abomination before God.” Really?  Day in and day out?  Really, Mr. Robinson?  I hear very few denouncing sexual sin as an “abomination.”  And I don’t recall ever overhearing anyone saying the kids themselves are an abomination.  In fact, I can proudly claim that the word abomination rarely ever escapes the mouth of anyone but the bravest of those opposed to me and my kingdom.  It seems most religious leaders are afraid to touch this issue, and stay beautifully silent. You see, a theology that God loves is one that considers sin,  not the sinner, as an abomination.  But the fact that some people have adopted a different theology that seeks to make that which is an abomination in the sight of God okie dokie in the sight of man, while also distorting the views of those who agree with God as “denouncing people as an abomination,” pleases me greatly. Mr. Robinson has it wrong both ways.  Well done.  He not only believes and promotes a theology that he and I both can rejoice in, but he has perverted a true theology into a false caricature.  I could ask no more of a true servant of mine. But there’s more!  Mr. Robinson concludes his piece by stating, with respect to all the young homosexuals that “religion” has killed,  ”Nothing short of changing our theology of human sexuality will save those young and precious lives.” You see?  Ha ha ha ha ha.  Want a convenient theology?  Just change the one you don’t like into one you do like! Don’t worry, chances are I’ll love whatever theology fits your sin-loving lifestyle. Read more at bloggingsatan.com

Intifada disfarçada

Um autor do Le Figaro observa, muito justamente, que a violência a que se assistiu esta semana em França não foi obra das organizações que se manifestaram contra a reforma da segurança social de Sarkozy, mas sim de bandos de indivíduos residentes em bairros sociais ― beneficiários, portanto, do apoio do estado francês ―, alguns emigrantes, muitos descendentes de emigrantes que desprezam a cultura francesa e a civilização ocidental, cultura que os põe na escola, civilização que, num gesto suicida, os acolhe e subsidia.
Se os autores destas acções de guerrilha urbana forem, na sua maioria, como se pensa, muçulmanos, essas acções têm um nome: intifada ou insurreição islâmica. Mais não são que os primeiros episódios de uma guerra civil que eclodirá quando os muçulmanos forem suficientemente numerosos para se sentirem confiantes de que sairão vencedores de um conflito mais generalizado e devastador, com outras armas.

Tous les lycéens ne sont évidemment pas des casseurs. Mais les casseurs de ces derniers jours- et ce mercredi matin encore, dans le centre de Lyon - sont bel et bien des lycéens. Ceux-là viennent, majoritairement, des cités-ghettos. Les encapuchonnés ne défilent pas pour défendre la retraite à 60 ans, ni même le système de protection sociale qui a pu attirer leurs parents ou leurs grands-parents. Ils ont là pour en découdre avec la République, sa culture et ses symboles les plus visibles: les forces de l'ordre, les écoles. C'est ainsi qu'un collège a été incendié au Mans. Les scènes de guérillas urbaines qu'ils reproduisent ressemblent beaucoup aux images d'intifadas des jeunes palestiniens s'affrontant aux forces israéliennes. Comparaison n'est pas raison, mais il y a, dans ces insurrections ethniques d'une jeunesse de culture souvent musulmane, le même rejet d'un Etat vu comme colonisateur et oppresseur. Les ensauvagés, chaque fois plus intrépides et organisés, rappellent l'échec de leur intégration.

Ces razzias contredisent les berceuses qui assurent que la France maîtrise son immigration de peuplement. "L'intégration fonctionne", assure par exemple l'ancienne plume de Jean-Pierre Raffarin à Matignon, Hakim El Karoui (Le Monde, 10-11 octobre). Il y a bien sûr de nombreuses réussites qui devraient être davantage valorisées. Mais la France est, n'en déplaise aux bien-pensants, le seul pays d'Europe à connaître de telles fractures identitaires, qui séparent désormais la jeunesse et dérivent de plus en plus en affrontements civils. L'Allemagne, qui vient de reconnaître l'échec de son approche multiculturelle, n'est pas pour autant confrontée à ces explosions de haine et, en fait, de racisme anti-Français. Il est donc urgent d'ouvrir les yeux sur cette réalité, que beaucoup cherchent à nier à mesure qu'elle devient plus visible. "Israel's Conflict as Game Theory," by Yisrael Aumann, who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2005 for his work on analyzing conflicts using game theory. This piece was posted at Israel Defender on October 23:

Two men--let us call them Rick and Steve-- are put in a small room containing a suitcase filled with bills totaling $100,000. The owner of the suitcase announces the following: "I will give you the money in the suitcase under one condition...you have to negotiate an agreement on how to divide it. That is the only way I will agree to give you the money." Rick is a rational person and realizes the golden opportunity that has fallen his way. He turns to Steve with the obvious suggestion: "You take half and I'll take half, that way each of us will have $50,000." To his surprise, Steve frowns at him and says, in a tone that leaves no room for doubt: "Look here, I don't know what your plans are for the money, but I don't intend to leave this room with less than $90,000. If you accept that, fine. If not, we can both go home without any of the money." Rick can hardly believe his ears. "What has happened to Steve" he asks himself. "Why should he get 90% of the money and I just 10%?" He decides to try to convince Steve to accept his view. "Let's be logical," he urges him, "We are in the same situation, we both want the money. Let's divide the money equally and both of us will profit." Steve, however, doesn't seem perturbed by his friend's logic. He listens attentively, but when Rick is finished he says, even more emphatically than before: "90-10 or nothing. That is my last offer." Rick's face turns red with anger. He is about to punch Steve in the nose, but he steps back. He realizes that Steve is not going to relent, and that the only way he can leave the room with any money is to give in to him. He straightens his clothes, takes $10,000 from the suitcase, shakes Steve's hand and leaves the room humiliated. This case is called 'The Blackmailer's Paradox" in game theory. The paradox is that Rick the rational is forced to behave irrationally by definition, in order to achieve maximum results in the face of the situation that has evolved. What brings about this bizarre outcome is the fact Steve is sure of himself and doesn't flinch when making his exorbitant demand. This convinces Rick that he must give in so as to make the best of the situation. The Arab-Israeli Conflict The relationship between Israel and the Arab countries is conducted along the lines of this paradox. At each stage of negotiation, the Arabs present impossible, unacceptable starting positions. They act sure of themselves and as if they totally believe in what they are asking for, and make it clear to Israel that there is no chance of their backing down. Invariably, Israel agrees to their blackmailing demands because otherwise she will leave the room empty handed. The most blatant example of this is the negotiations with Syria that have been taking place with different levels of negotiators for years. The Syrians made sure that it was clear from the beginning that they would not compromise on one millimeter of the Golan Heights. The Israeli side, eager to have a peace agreement with Syria, internalized the Syrian position so well, that the Israeli public is sure that the starting point for future negotiations with Syria has to include complete withdrawal from the Golan Heights, this despite its critical strategic importance in ensuring secure borders for Israel. Como se observa no Gates of Vienna, onde encontrámos estes videos, a leitura pública e transmissão televisiva deste testemunho pode ter um efeito esclarecedor considerável na opinião pública holandesa, a quem são servidos, em doses maciças, como um pouco por todo o mundo ocidental, os refrães do costume: "O islão é uma religião de paz", "o islão é uma religião como as outras", etc.

The trial of Dutch MP Geert Wilders will have an encore. In the conclusion to a bizarre trial — in which the prosecution already called for the acquittal of the defendant — Wilders’ lawyer Abraham Moszkowicz today asked for dismissal of the three judges, and his request was approved by the dismissal commission of the court. Now, the trial will have to start over from the beginning.

Moszkowicz asked for a dismissal after the three judges refused to allow Dr. Hans Jansen to testify regarding a discussion he had with one of the judges of a higher court that ordered the prosecution of Wilders.

In May, Dr. Jansen was invited to attend a dinner party together with one of the higher court judges. This judge started discussing the Wilders trial, and his order to prosecute, with Dr. Jansen. Jansen revealed this on his personal blog last Wednesday. Moszkowicz wanted the judges to hear, in court, Dr. Jansen’s impression of this discussion.

Dr. Jansen had testified earlier in this case in a closed setting. Dr. Jansen is one of the foremost Islam experts in the Netherlands. (As is the case in the U.S., judges are not permitted to discuss a case outside the court — especially with an expert witness for the case.)

The court refused Moszkowicz’ request to hear Dr. Jansen. Moszkowicz subsequently asked for dismissal of this court, and after a short session the dismissal commission agreed with him.

Now the trial has been postponed for several months and the news of the activist judge of the higher court has captured today’s headlines in the Netherlands. Read more at pajamasmedia.com

Julgamento de Wilders anulado, será repetido

Numa altura em que o desfecho do julgamento de Geert Wilders parecia encaminhar-se para a sua absolvição, depois do ministério público ter retirado todas as queixas, chegam-nos notícias surpreendentes: ao que consta, a pedido da defesa de Wilders, o julgamento vai ser anulado, por questões que se prendem com uma eventual falta de imparcialidade dos juízes que compõem o colectivo que julga este caso, da qual já aqui demos conta. Pode concluir-se que a defesa de Wilders acreditava realmente que o colectivo de juízes, apesar da tomada de posição do ministério público, se preparava para condenar Wilders.
Tudo volta à estaca zero e o julgamento, que teve início em Janeiro, será repetido.
Mas, será possível repetir um julgamento depois do ministério público ter declarado publicamente que não há matéria para acusar Wilders?

A court in the Netherlands has ordered a retrial before a new panel of judges in anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders’ hate speech trial.

Wilders called for the judges to be dismissed after a defence witness alleged improper conduct by a member of an appeals panel directly involved in the case.

A hastily convened panel at the Amsterdam District Court ruled that Wilders’ objections were valid. That means the trial which began in January must be repeated from the beginning with new judges.

Wilders faces charges of inciting hatred against Muslims for many remarks, including some equating Islam with fascism and violence, and others calling for a ban on the Koran and a tax on Muslim headscarves.
