Four young British Muslim extremists chanted religious slogans as they battered a prison officer. The gang chanted "death to the Kuffar" (non-believer) and "Allah Akbar" (God is Great) as they laid into the warder - who is in his 40s - after prayers.

It is believed they were trying to steal his keys to let other inmates out and start a riot at the notorious Feltham Young Offenders' Institute in Middlex.

A fellow officer came to his rescue as he hid under a pool table and used his baton to drive them back.

Regarding Leftist attitudes towards those deemed “rabidly anti-Communist,” Orwell had observed the following:

The upshot is that if from time to time you express a mild distaste for slave-labor camps or one-candidate elections, you are either insane or actuated by the worst motives. In the same way when Henry Wallace is asked by a newspaper interviewer why he issues falsified versions of his speeches to the press, he replies: “So you must be one of those people who are clamoring for war with Russia.” There is the milder kind of ridicule that consists in pretending that reasoned opinion is indistinguishable from an absurd out-of-date prejudice. My colleague, the journalist and historian Lars Hedegaard, President of The Free Press Society in Denmark, forwarded some introductory remarks, followed by Danish MP Jesper Langballe’s “guilty” plea for “hate speech”—more aptly Islamo-realistic speech—after Langballe was denied the right to prove his case. Lars Hedegaard, it should be noted, is  also facing criminal trial followed by a libel suit for remarks he made in December 2009. His criminal trial takes place in Frederiksberg Court on January 24, 2011. Translation: Sappho.dk – the web magazine of the Danish Free Press Society § 266b of the Danish penal code states, “Whoever publicly or with the intent of public dissemination issues a pronouncement or other communication by which a group of persons are threatened, insulted or denigrated due to their race, skin colour, national or ethnic origin, religion or sexual orientation is liable to a fine or incarceration for up to two years.” And here is what Jesper Langballe wrote that merited prosecution under the Danish penal code: “Of course Lars Hedegaard should not have said that there are Muslim fathers who rape their daughters when the truth appears to be that they make due with killing their daughters (the so-called honour killings) and leave it to their uncles to rape them.” [Lars Hedegaard’s introductory remarks] On December 3, 2010 the municipal court in Randers, Denmark found the Danish Member of Parliament Jesper Langballe (Danish People’s Party) guilty of hate speech under Article 266b of the Danish penal code. In accordance with Danish legal precedent he was denied the opportunity to prove his allegation that honour killings and sexual abuse take place in Muslim families. Under Danish jurisprudence it is immaterial whether a statement is true or untrue. All that is needed for a conviction is that somebody feels offended. “With this article in the penal code,” commented Mr. Langballe, “I must be assumed convicted in advance. I have no intention of participateing in this circus. Therefore I confess.” Mr. Langballe was sentenced to a fine of DKK 5,000 (approximately $1000) or ten days in jail. Here is a translation of Jesper Langballe’s full confession in court. [Jesper Langballe’s “guilty plea"] Here at the start of my trial I wish to make a statement that will probably allow us to get home early. My message is that I confess. I plead guilty. And I wish to state my reasons. I have already expressed my regret that the tone of the newspaper piece that has lead to me being charged was too rash and sarcastic. It did not do justice to the deeply serious issue I addressed, i.e. the terrible honour killings that take place in some Muslim families where a young girl is being murdered by her father or brother because she has fallen in love with the “wrong” man. In Denmark there is an average of approximately one honour killing per year. In Turkey there is an average of one a day according to the Turkish authorities’ statistics. In addition I have spoken about fathers who look the other way while uncles or cousins rape their daughters. That is a well attested fact. Suffice it to refer to Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s descriptions and here in Denmark to Kristina Aamund’s touching book Mødom på mode (Virginity in vogue) about young people in Muslim families. That was the factual basis for the passage in my comment in Berlingske Tidende (a Copenhagen daily, ed.). As I am not a lawyer, I had been looking forward to an opportunity to prove my words and thus to shed light over the substance of my remarks – the horrific honour killings. That was why I – as opposed to the rest of my parliamentary group – voted in favour of lifting my immunity as a parliamentarian in order that the trial might go forward. I have since learned that according to current legal usage defendants in cases brought under Article 266b are denied the right to prove their case. With this article in the penal code I must be assumed convicted in advance. I have no intention to participate in this circus. Therefore I confess. This will also ensure agreement between the verdict I shall be handed in a few moments and the unbecoming article in the penal code according to which I am convicted. In addition I am facing a libel suit for the statements I am tried for today. An in a libel suit I shall have the opportunity to prove my words. Article 266b’s sole criterion of culpability, however, is whether someone feels offended or insulted – not whether what I have said is true or false. This must be said to be in full accordance with the general “culture of offence” that has taken root and which is so magnificently supported by Article 266b. In certain circles is has almost become a hobby to feel offended – by caricatures in a newspaper, by criticism of religion etc. etc. Let my finally address the accusation that I have generalised – to the effect that my remarks might be seen to encompass every Muslim. That is a meaningless interpretation. The mentioning of honour killings in my text refers to the passage that “there are Muslim fathers who …” And the words “there are” can never express a totality but must always mean a subset. Let us assume – as a counter test – that I had written the opposite: “There are no Muslim fathers [who kill their daughters].” Any reasonably knowledgeable person would recognise this as a flagrant untruth. To sum up: In the clear light of hindsight I do not like the tone in that passage. The truth of it, however, I stand by completely. And frankly, personally I find the case itself – those gruesome murders of innocent young girls – a good deal more relevant that the question of my failing stylistic abilities. BREAKING: Suicide attack in Stockholm, bomber killed

A man blew himself up in a suicide attack in central Stockholm this evening surrounded by Christmas shoppers (SE, SE). A car exploded just minutes earlier on a nearby street, injuring two people.

The man carried six pipe-bombs, but only one exploded. In addition he had a backpack filled with nails, and a possible additional bomb. According to witnesses, the man shouted something in Arabic before he detonated the bombs. The bomber was the only one killed in the attack. Several people nearby went into shock and suffered hearing loss.

The bombs detonated at Bryggargatan street. According to one source, if he would have blown up on the nearby Drottninggatan street, it would have been a massacre.

Approximately ten minutes before the explosions occurred, Swedish news agency TT received an email, also addressed to Säpo, in which a reached out to “Sweden and the Swedish people”. He cites Sweden’s silence surrounding the cartoons by Swedish Lars Vilks which portray the prophet Mohammed as a dog, the Swedish troops in Afghanistan, saying in audio files attached to the email that “now your children, daughters and sisters die like our brothers’ and sisters’ children die”. “Our actions will speak for themselves. As long as you don’t stop your ward against Islam and degrading the prophet and your stupid support of that pig Vilks,” the man said. The man also urges all Muslims in Sweden to “stop sucking up to and degrading”. He concludes the message with yet another call to “all the mujahedeen in Europe and Sweden”. “Now it’s time to act, don’t wait any longer. Fear no one, don’t fear prison, don’t fear death.”

The message contained audio files in both Swedish and Arabic. The audio files do not link the man to any organization. The man also says that he's been to the Middle East and asks his family to forgive him for lying to them. "I never went to the Middle East to work or earn money. I went there for Jihad." Espanha: denúncias de tratamento cruel de animais levam autoridades a investigar muçulmanos

O animal tem que ser degolado e sangrado até à morte; tem que estar consciente em todo o processo, até perder a consciência por choque volémico. No momento em que é degolado tem que estar planamente vígil para poder ouvir um certo versículo do Alcorão, que faz parte do ritual do sacrifício a Alá. Ao menos os judeus — que também matam por degola e sangramento — aceitam que o animal seja atordoado. Os muçulmanos é à antiga-e-à-arábica!
E, a julgar pela foto e por outras muitas que já vimos, parecem divertir-se bastante com o procedimento.

La delegación territorial de Salud en Tarragona ha abierto una investigación para esclarecer la matanza irregular de varios de corderos durante la fiesta musulmana del sacrificio o Eid al Adha, celebrada los pasados 16 y 17 de noviembre. Los servicios territoriales del departamento han iniciado las pesquisas tras admitir a trámite la denuncia de una entidad protectora de los animales, la Asociación contra la tortura y el maltrato animal (Actyma). Esta organización remitió a la Generalitat fotografías de vísceras y otros restos que proceden del degollamiento a cuchillo de media docena de corderos en una finca del Priorat. Esta práctica incumpliría la ley sobre transporte y muerte de animales para consumo humano.

Según la entidad, que fue alertada de la matanza por varios vecinos, la práctica es habitual entre los seguidores del Islam que año tras año degüellan a corderos para la fiesta del sacrificio incumpliendo la normativa española.

El rito musulmán del sacrificio exige que los corderos mueran degollados a cuchillo y desangrados, según estipula el Corán.

En este caso, los animales son llevados a un descampado o en pleno bosque la noche anterior del sacrificio. Quedan bajo custodia hasta que, a la mañana siguiente, les rebanan el cuello con un cuchillo y aguardan a que se desangren. Este tipo de denuncias son habituales cada año en las fechas posteriores a la fiesta del sacrificio, han explicado fuentes de Salud. La dificultad de detectar e identificar a los autores de las matanzas implica sin embargo que la mayoría de casos acaben archivados sin que la Generalitat imponga sanción alguna. Remarkable german documentary about the gradual radicalisation and moral deroute of Barino Barzoum. Son of a coptic christian father and german catholic mother. It details how the Quran disguises seeds of hate and scorn as indisputable opinions of the creator of the universe. This mixture of ruthlessnes and worship has a very interesting albeit devastating influence on the believer. Making an otherwise intelligent person loose his natural capacity for making moral judgements. Highly recommended for anyone intererested in the psychology of islamic mindgames and memes I went through the trouble of translating and subtitling this one myself mainly because I consider it the most important german documentary about Islam. In the sequel which I hope I will be able to translate at a later time, Barino leaves Islam and joins the church of the coptic christians. And today he is one of the most dedicated and outspoken people in germany warning against the threat of radical Islam. I have this gut feeling that a day will come when everybody will know who Barino is, and thought it would be good to present this record of his years in the Abu Bakr Mosque to an international audience. CR: Arousal test used on gay asylum seekers

An EU agency has condemned Czech authorities for using a sexual arousal test on asylum seekers who claim to be gay. The process, called phallometric testing, involves measuring sexual arousal by monitoring blood flow into the penis. In this case gay asylum seekers are shown heterosexual pornography to see if they get an erection. If the claimant becomes aroused, their chances of asylum become less likely. According to the survey, majorities in Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Nigeria would favor changing current laws to allow stoning as a punishment for adultery, hand amputation for theft and death for those who convert from Islam to another religion. About 85% of Pakistani Muslims said they would support a law segregating men and women in the workplace.

Muslims in Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria and Jordan were among the most enthusiastic, with more than three-quarters of poll respondents in those countries reporting positive views of Islam's influence in politics: either that Islam had a large role in politics, and that was a good thing, or that it played a small role, and that was bad.

Yes, Qur'an 4:34 really does say "beat them." Perhaps if Muslim apologists -- professional and amateur -- and spokespeople spent less time trying to convince Western audiences that the Qur'an doesn't really quite say what it says, and focused that same level of effort instead on stopping their coreligionists' alleged "misunderstandings" (including imams) and "cultural" misconduct, there would be fewer stories like this for us to so rudely report on.

Of course, real progress would require a forthright acknowledgment of the contents of the Qur'an. No more tap-dancing around "context" or playing the "lost in translation" card. And no more trying to excuse the inexcusable.

Oh, and just for a touch of irony, what has the imam been lecturing about at the Catholic university in Munich? Non-violence.

Sheikh Abu Adam, 40, is now on remand in Munich while his wife, 31, is being guarded by police. She was allegedly assaulted so badly that she suffered a broken nose and shoulder and numerous cuts and bruises. Media reports claimed the woman, who has borne one of his ten children, wanted to live a more 'western' lifestyle and was allegedly attacked after telling her husband. The police said they received a call from a lawyer hired by the victim. Adam is alleged to have shouted a verse from the Koran at his wife as he beat her.

Islamic apologists in the West routinely insist that Muslims aren't really supposed to beat their wives at all, or that if they are, they should only beat them lightly, and that Muhammad said to beat one's wife only with a toothbrush. They never mention, of course, how Muhammad's favorite wife, Aisha, recounted the time when Muhammad "struck me on the chest which caused me pain." Christian school in The Hague bans teacher in Islamic headbag.

Dutch News- An orthodox Christian primary school in The Hague on Friday refused to accept a fill-in teacher because she was wearing an Islamic headscarf. School head Teun Klaver said the school had imposed strict rules on clothing around seven years ago. The school bans all religious clothing and attributes unless they relates to the Christian faith. Orthodox religious schools are run privately but receive government funding. The neologism “Islamophobia” did not simply emerge ex nihilo. It was invented, deliberately, by a Muslim Brotherhood front organization, the International Institute for Islamic Thought, which is based in Northern Virginia. If that name dimly rings a bell, it should: I’ve mentioned it before, and it’s particularly important because it was co-founded by Anwar Ibrahim–the hero of Moderate Islam who is now trotting around the globe comparing his plight to that of Aung San Suu Kyi.

Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, a former member of the IIIT who has renounced the group in disgust, was an eyewitness to the creation of the word. “This loathsome term,” he writes, is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliche conceived in the bowels of Muslim think tanks for the purpose of beating down critics.

In another article concerning the many moderate Muslims whose voices have been drowned out by Saudi-financed Muslim Brotherhood front groups, Muhammad describes the strategy behind the word’s invention:

In an effort to silence critics of political Islam, advocates needed to come up with terminology that would enable them to portray themselves as victims. Muhammad said he was present when his then-allies, meeting at the offices of the International Institute for Islamic Thought (IIIT) in Northern Virginia years ago, coined the term “Islamophobia.”

Muhammad said the Islamists decided to emulate the homosexual activists who used the term “homophobia” to silence critics. He said the group meeting at IIIT saw “Islamophobia” as a way to “beat up their critics.”

Really imagine that scene: a bunch of Islamists admiring how astutely the queers–people who in their ideal world would be served with the lash or hanged–had portrayed their critics as mentally disturbed. Brilliant. Let’s take a leaf from them and then kill them. The association of anti-Islamism–the noblest form of liberal anti-totalitarianism–with gay-bashing rednecks in the grip of a psychosexual panic was not just one of those linguistic accidents of history, in other words. These guys were sitting there in Virginia and really thinking about the best way to exploit the weaknesses of the Western psyche. They came up with this word–and admit it, it’s clever; I challenge you to find a better one if you want to yank the West’s chain–and they marketed it with petrodollars, and now it truly does drive public discourse and policy the world over.

The fact that the IIIT was co-founded by Anwar Ibrahim, who is now on trial for sodomy–something of a homophobic charge, that--would be almost hilarious in its just-deserts irony if Anwar hadn’t succeeded in portraying himself as the moderate darling of Muslim moderation whose plight should now trouble the liberal conscience of the West, no matter his own role in exploiting it.

So Anwar Ibrahim– our moderate man in moderate Malaysia–is the moderate man behind this Orwellian effort to render the West incapable of objecting even verbally to political Islam. The gift of “Islamophobia” is just the beginning of the story.

As Muslim enrollment increases at Christian schools, especially in Europe, so too does interfaith conflict at such institutions. A recent piece in Le Figaro highlights the stresses placed on French Catholic schools in particular. For example, the report describes how one had set up a crib for Advent, but "a Muslim parent demanded its removal, saying 'a Muslim cannot hear that Jesus is the Son of God.'" At another, Muslims walked all over a well-intentioned but hapless administrator:

A headmistress … offered Muslim students a room in which to pray and to help them avoid being caught in rain in the school courtyard. The students have turned it into a prayer room and invite other people who have nothing to do with the school to pray with them. Since then the director has been unable to use this space for other activities.

Of course, Christian schools also share many of the challenges faced by secular ones, such as students refusing to swim during Ramadan due to fear of swallowing water (an old standard). No word from Le Figaro on whether Muslims in French Catholic schools respond to lessons on evolution or the Holocaust any more positively than their public school counterparts do.

A 2008 New York Times article explains that France's hijab ban in state-run classes has pushed Muslims to Catholic schools, which are not bound by this law and must accept students of all faiths to qualify for subsidies. Yet even the less critical Times piece could not ignore the ensuing cultural friction. For example, it relates the story of one Catholic school's headmaster who, after a series of accommodations, finally had to "put his foot down when students asked to remove the crucifix in a classroom they wanted for communal prayers during Ramadan."

Christian schools elsewhere are caught in a similar cycle. NIS News reported in 2008 that "two Amsterdam secondary schools with a Christian basis are to close during [Eid al-Fitr] to accede to their Muslim pupils." A year later, a Dutch Catholic elementary school with a handful of Muslims was planning to serve halal food at a Christmas meal, but officials reversed course following parental outrage. In the UK, bishops have recommended that Catholic schools include prayer rooms and washing facilities for Muslims. The Times of London has also noted that at least one Muslim-heavy Church of England school "no longer observes the requirement to have an act of daily collective worship that is 'consistently and recognizably Christian.'"

Showing more backbone, Catholic schools in Ireland have banned niqabs for pupils, while an English one recently barred a face-covering visitor. The board of Trinity University in Texas, which is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, also earns credit for resisting demands, initially driven by Muslim students, to remove the phrase "In the Year of Our Lord" from diplomas.

Overall, the situation in many Christian schools resembles David Solway's analogy of the West's multicultural experiment: you welcome a guest into your home, only to watch him "introduce a new set of house rules which you, the proprietor, are expected to abide by." But who really deserves greater blame here: the pushy guest or the owner who is too timid to stand his ground? Read more at www.islamist-watch.org

Here again, even in the West, non-Muslims must accommodate Muslim mores -- never the other way around.

A BLIND couple were "disgusted" to be turned away by a Stafford taxi driver because of their award-winning guide dog. Doreen and Ernest Dix were refused entry to a cab parked at the pick-up point behind Stafford market last week. The Great Haywood pensioners claim the driver did not want Blake, the current West Midlands guide dog of the year, in his cab. This contravenes the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005 and can land offenders a £1,000 fine unless they certify they have a dog allergy. Mrs Dix, 71, said this was the first time her golden retriever-labrador cross had been rejected from a taxi. She said: "I can barely see, but saw the driver wave his hands and say 'no, no, no' as we approached his cab. "We were both very upset and were made to feel really small, but just got the next taxi in the end. "We're moving to Stafford soon and this is a very poor start indeed." Eight-two-year-old Mr Dix, whose eyesight is worse than his wife's, was "appalled" by the driver's behaviour. He said: "I've been registered blind for 28 years and have never been discriminated against by a taxi driver before this. "If he isn't willing to pick up certain people, then he shouldn't be in a queue of taxis earmarked for shoppers. "The driver we eventually used agreed it was appalling it made me feel like a second-class citizen."... Get used to it. More is coming. In recent years, there have been reports of Muslim drivers refusing the blind due to their doctrine's assertion that dogs are unclean. However, the DDA does not consider this an excuse.... Forgé par les intégristes iraniens à la fin des années 70 pour contrer les féministes américaines, le terme d’«islamophobie», calqué sur celui de xénophobie, a pour but de faire de l’islam un objet intouchable sous peine d’être accusé de racisme. Cette création, digne des propagandes totalitaires, entretient une confusion délibérée entre une religion, système de piété spécifique, et les fidèles de toutes origines qui y adhèrent. Or une confession n’est pas une race, pas plus que ne l’est une idéologie séculière : l’islam, comme le christianisme, est révéré par des Arabes, des Africains, des Asiatiques, des Européens, de même que des hommes de tous pays sont ou ont été marxistes, libéraux, anarchistes. Jusqu’à preuve du contraire, on a le droit, dans un régime démocratique, de juger les religions mensongères et rétrogrades et de ne pas les aimer. Se méfier de l’islam comme on a pu en d’autres temps se méfier du catholicisme, juger inquiétant son prosélytisme agressif, sa prétention à la vérité unique, son penchant sacrificiel, c’est manifester un sentiment qu’on estimera légitime ou absurde, ce n’est pas faire preuve de racisme. Le pari des sociétés ouvertes, c’est de concilier la coexistence pacifique des grandes croyances avec le droit à la libre expression. La liberté de culte est garantie et la liberté de critiquer les cultes également. Les Français, échaudés par des siècles de domination cléricale, souhaitent un affichage discret des croyances. Réclamer des droits séparés pour telle ou telle communauté, imposer de strictes limites à l’examen des dogmes nous ramènerait directement à l’Ancien Régime. Le terme d’islamophobie remplit plusieurs fonctions : nier pour mieux la légitimer la réalité d’une offensive intégriste en Europe, attaquer la laïcité en l’assimilant à un nouveau fondamentalisme. Mais surtout faire taire les musulmans qui osent remettre le Coran en cause, en appellent à l’égalité entre les sexes, au droit à l’apostasie et aspirent à pratiquer paisiblement leur foi sans subir le diktat de doctrinaires ou de barbus. Il faut donc stigmatiser ces jeunes filles qui refusent le voile, souhaitent marcher sans honte, tête nue, dans la rue, foudroyer ces Français, ces Allemands, ces Anglais d’origine maghrébine, turque, africaine, algérienne qui réclament le droit à l’indifférence religieuse, le droit de ne pas croire en Dieu, de ne pas jeûner pendant le ramadan. Il faut les désigner, ces renégats, à la vindicte de leurs coreligionnaires, les faire taire pour bloquer tout espoir d’une mutation chez les fidèles du Prophète (en France et de façon révélatrice, c’est un «Collectif contre l’islamophobie» qui soutient juridiquement les femmes verbalisées pour port du voile intégral). Nous assistons à la fabrication planétaire d’un nouveau délit d’opinion, analogue à ce qui se faisait jadis dans l’Union soviétique contre les ennemis du peuple. Et ce avec l’onction des médias et des pouvoirs publics. Notre président lui-même, jamais en retard d’une bourde, n’a-t-il pas comparé l’islamophobie à l’antisémitisme ? L’erreur est tragique : le racisme s’attaque aux personnes en tant qu’elles sont coupables d’être ce qu’elles sont, le Noir, l’Arabe, le Juif, le Blanc. L’esprit critique, à l’inverse, porte sur les vérités révélées, les écritures toujours susceptibles d’exégèses, de transformations. Cette confusion a pour objet de déplacer la question religieuse du plan intellectuel au plan pénal, toute objection ou moquerie étant passible de poursuites. Quant aux profanations de tombes, de lieux de culte, si elles relèvent évidemment des tribunaux, elles touchent dans leur immense majorité en France les cimetières ou églises chrétiennes (1). On s’en veut de le rappeler : de tous les monothéismes, c’est le christianisme qui est aujourd’hui le plus persécuté dans le monde, surtout dans les pays musulmans, Algérie, Irak, Egypte entre autres. Il est plus facile d’être musulman à Londres, New York ou Paris que protestant, catholique au Moyen-Orient ou en Afrique du Nord. Mais le vocable de «christianophobie» ne prend pas et c’est heureux. Imagine-t-on la Saint-Barthélemy condamnée par nos ancêtres sous l’angle de la discrimination plutôt que du fanatisme religieux ? Il est des mots qui contribuent à infecter la langue, à en obscurcir le sens. «Islamophobie» fait partie de ces termes à bannir d’urgence du vocabulaire. Source : Libération
