PARIS - France has stepped up its vigilance against terror threats, a top official announced Monday amid reports of various new threats, including one against the Paris transport network.

"The terrorist threat is real and today our vigilance, therefore, is reinforced," Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said during a visit to the Seine-et-Marne region east of Paris. He did not elaborate on the additional security measures taken.

In the last few days, there has been a false bomb alert at the Eiffel Tower and five French workers and two African colleagues have been kidnapped in Niger, part of the African turf of al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb.

Last week, the Senate voted to ban burqa-style Islamic veils in France, a subject that has prompted warnings by al-Qaida's Maghreb group.

Armed guards have been assigned to the rector of the Grande Mosque of Paris, the prominent moderate Dalil Boubakeur, since Friday, because of a new threat, according to the mosque spokesman.

The three guards are with him "morning, noon and evening," spokesman Slimane Nadour said Monday by telephone, adding "we have no information on the nature of the threat."

It was not immediately clear whether other figures in France were recently given special protection.

RTL radio, citing sources close to the Interior Ministry, reported Monday that French authorities received information early Thursday about a possible suicide bombing attack by a woman apparently on the Paris transport system. Authorities received the alert from French and North African sources, RTL reported.

So credible was the information that Hortefeux canceled a two-day visit outside Paris, and security agents searched the transport system throughout the day but came up empty-handed, RTL said.

That same day, however, Hortefeux held an unusual news conference under the Eiffel Tower to announce that France faced an elevated risk of terrorism.

"An array of clues dating from the last few days and even the last few hours show the terrorist threat is at an elevated level," Hortefeux said at the time. "It is a real threat."

The Interior Ministry would not comment Monday on the radio report.

Mais violência islâmica em França

Bandos de "jovens" protestam violentamente nas ruas de Grenoble. Contra quê? Um grupo deles assaltou um casino. O assalto correu mal; houve uma troca de tiros com a polícia e um dos jovens morreu.

Como sempre, os media e os intelectuais progressistas (passe o oxímoro) procuram as causas para estes actos de violência nas condições socioculturais dos "jovens". Pena é que, dentre estas, não examinem cuidadosamente a religião que constitui a principal matriz cultural destes jovens: o islão. Entretanto, enquanto a polícia faz que está ao seu alcance para pôr cobro à violência, o governo francês terá dado ordem para que não sejam divulgados dados concretos sobre a destruição perpetrada pela "juventude enfurecida". Querem tapar os olhos dos cidadãos, o que só descredibiliza a classe política e faz temer que, num futuro próximo, os populares, sentindo que os políticos não os representam, tomem o poder nas suas próprias mãos.

The “youths” of France are at it again, this time in Grenoble. The other day some racist police officers had the temerity not only to catch a gang of young Muslim criminals, but actually to shoot one of them to death. All right, so the late high-spirited lad had shot and wounded a policeman. But still — he didn’t deserve to die for it, did he? That’s a disproportionate response! The appropriate level of retaliation would be to wound him to the exact extent that he wounded the cop. That would be fair. Anyway, in reaction the young rascals went on a bit of a spree. According to AFP:

The southeastern French town of Grenoble was hit by riots on early Saturday with shots fired and cars set alight after a man accused of robbing a casino was killed by police. Police spokeswoman Brigitte Jullien said, shots had been fired at police who returned fire four times. A youth was arrested at the scene of the riots, the working class district of La Villeneuve. Thirty cars and several businesses were torched, while angry youths armed with baseball bats and iron bars attacked a tram and forced the passengers to get out. The incidents started after a Muslim service for 27-year-old Karim Boudouda, who died 24 hours earlier in a shootout with police after the Uriage-les-Bains casino near Grenoble was held up.

France: Riots in Grenoble After Police Shooting Rioters in France have torched cars and opened fire on police offers during an overnight confrontation in the southeastern French city of Grenoble. The incident begun in the early hours of Saturday morning when rampaging youths stoned a tramway and attacked it with baseball bats and iron bars. The gangs then set cars on fire and opened fire against officers. The officers returned fire. Regional security official Brigitte Julien says no one was injured in the incident but one youth, in his twenties, was detained. The riots came after the death of a Grenoble resident during a robbery in a nearby town. Karim Boudouda, 27, was one of two men believed to have held up a casino, escaping with more than 20,000 euros (£17,000). He was killed in a shoot-out with police following the robbery. Violence flared after his memorial service. Mr Boudouda, 27, had three previous convictions for armed robbery. The other suspect escaped and is still on the run.

And here we are told to pay attention to the “underlying causes” of culturally enriched violence in the banlieues:

Police and government officials have a lingering fear that the poor suburbs could explode again because the underlying causes — high unemployment, few opportunities, drug trafficking and a sense of exclusion from society — have changed little. [emphasis added]

The “underlying causes” are always the same: unemployment, poverty, exclusion, etc. Needless to say, these remain unexamined premises — no one has to demonstrate their accuracy. Yes, it’s true that most of the “youths” have one or more of the cited characteristics, but correlation is not causation. In fact, the opposite could be true: it’s quite possible that the criminal behavior of these rambunctious chaps is what causes them to be poor, unemployed, and excluded. Or, even more likely, an extraneous factor causes all of the given conditions — violent crime, unemployment, poverty, exclusion, etc. And what would that extraneous factor likely be? What do all of these boisterous youngsters have in common? What characteristic do they have that poor unemployed Frenchmen, Poles, Danes, Serbs, Italians, etc., don’t share? As Mark Steyn often says: it starts with an “I” and ends with “slam”. The unacknowledged fact about these Muslim kids is that their routine behavior — beating, killing, raping, and stealing from the kuffar — is not considered criminal behavior under Islamic law. As a matter of fact, slaughtering the infidel and seizing his goods as booty is considered a duty under sharia. These violent crime-ridden Muslim ghettoes are often referred to as “no-go zones”, but that’s a misnomer. They should be called “sharia enclaves”. The Muslim ghettoes are sharia mini-states. They are ruled by their own pocket emirs, who issue fatwas, dispense justice, and make sure that the inhabitants obey Islamic law. À semelhança do que sucede com outras práticas muçulmanas que vão conquistando a Europa, não se ouvem os protestos dos progressistas. Desta feita, os sacrificados são os frangos. A prática muçulmana exige que sejam mortos por decapitação estando plenamente conscientes ― sem atordoamento, como se faz nos matadouros ocidentais. O frango deve estar consciente para que as últimas palavras que escuta sejam um versículo alcorânico que sacraliza o seu sacrifício. O sacrificador tem que ser muçulmano. Recordo que isto se passa em França e não apenas com frangos: a norma é a mesma para o gado ovino, caprino e bovino. Graças a Alá, escapam-se-lhe os porcos. Assustador o grau de islamização da Europa. Deixámos entrar o Cavalo de Tróia. A guerra será sangrenta ou capitularemos sem resistir?

Frente Nacional cresce em França

A Frente Nacional (FN) ― partido de extrema-direita francês, liderado por Jean-Marie Le Pen ―, melhorou os seus resultados eleitorais em relação aos sufrágios mais recentes. O fenómeno do recrudescimento da FN, estará relacionado com a desilusão de sectores conservadores com o presidente Sarkozy. Recorde-se que, nas últimas eleições presidenciais, Sarkozy fez campanha contra a islamização da França, contra o descontrolo da emigração, contra a violência racial muçulmana, contra a existência de zonas onde os não-muçulmanos não podem entrar. Deste modo, Sarkozy terá conseguido reunir à sua volta os eleitores verdadeiramente preocupados com o avanço do islão, mas que, não sendo racistas, não se revêem nas posturas cegamente anti-emigração e xenófobas da FN. Pode pensar-se que nas presidenciais de 2007, só votou FN quem é mesmo racista e fascista. Passados quase três anos da sua eleição, Sarkozy parece não ter conseguido fixar os votos dos franceses preocupados com as profundas transformações que o seu país vem sofrendo. Desiludidos com Sarkozy, alguns ― dentre os 48% de recenseados que resolveram votar ― não terão encontrado em todo o espectro político francês quem os represente, se não a FN. O mesmo fenómeno ocorre no Reino Unido, onde um partido conservador cada vez mais esquerdisado se mostra incapaz de crescer de forma concludente e onde os fascistas do British National Party recolhem preferência crescente, justamente entre as classes operárias ― eleitorado tradicionalmente sensível à demagogia socialista, seja internacionalista (partidos comunistas e socialistas), seja nacionalista (partidos fascistas, nacional-socialistas) ― de zonas com forte implantação de emigrantes muçulmanos. O crescimento da extrema-direita ― colectivista, centralista, racista, anti-semita, neo-pagã ― é muito de lamentar, porque a tirania fascista não é alternativa válida à tirania islâmica.
