Felicitación islamista para celebrar la Navidad

Las autoridades de los EEUU detuvieron a Mohamed Osman Mohamud, joven musulmán norteamericano de origen somalí de 19 años de edad, que planeaba cometer un atentado-sacrifico para Alá durante una ceremonia navideña en Portland, en el estado de Oregón, según documentos judiciales difundidos del Departamento de Justicia.

El piadoso devoto musulmán Mohamed Osman Mohamud fue detenido el viernes 26 de noviembre de 2010 en un operativo encubierto del FBI cuando planeaba hacer estallar un coche bomba durante el encendido del árbol de Navidad, una de las ceremonias cristianas tradicionales que se celebran en varias ciudades estadounidenses en estas fechas.

Los cargos que pesan sobre el joven, que nació en Somalia pero obtuvo la ciudadanía de EEUU y que actualmente cursaba estudios en la Universidad Estatal de Oregón, es intento de uso de armas de destrucción masiva.

La Agencia Federal de Investigaciones (FBI) informó que la detención fue la culminación de una larga operación encubierta, durante la cual Mohamud fue seguido muy de cerca mientras preparaba el atentado.

El islamista había estacionado una furgoneta cargada de explosivos cerca del parque concurrido de familias donde se iba a celebrar la ceremonia.

Cuando fue detenido, la furgoneta estacionada cerca del parque donde se iba a celebrar la ceremonia esta supuestamente cargada con explosivos y el joven había intentado activar el dispositivo.

El muchacho se enfrenta ahora a una condena de cadena perpetua y a una multa de 250.000 dólares.

Según Dwight C. Holton, Fiscal General del Distrito de Oregón, la "fría determinación del acusado sirve para alertarnos de que, incluso en Oregón, hay gente determinada a matar a ciudadanos estadounidenses".

Tal y como apuntó en un comunicado Arthur Balizan, el agente especial del FBI encargado de la operación, "la amenaza era muy real. Nuestra investigación reveló que Mohamud estaba comprometido en llevar a cabo un ataque a gran escala".

El piadoso musulmán tiene más motivos para quejarse contra los infieles. Estos  “cruzados”  le han impedido sacrificar infieles para Alá.

Brigada Al-Quds pretende actuar a partir da Cisjordânia para aniquilar Israel

O objectivo palestiniano é a paz, como todos sabem, mas pelo peculiar processo de aniquilação do inimigo, seja a Brigada Al-Quds, o Hamas ou a Fatah. Mudam os processos, mas o objectivo é, assumidamente, o mesmo. Al-Quds Brigades: If Israel Withdraws to the '67 Borders, We Will Operate from the West Bank to Liberate the Rest of Palestine

Abu Ahmad, spokesman of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad organization, said that the resistance groups in Gaza have formed a joint headquarters to formulate a strategic defense plan and to fully coordinate their military activity. He explained that, if another war breaks out, the resistance will not restrain itself and its rockets will reach targets beyond Ashdod and Beersheba.

Abu Ahmad added that the resistance is making serious efforts to transfer its expertise to the factions in the West Bank, where it is possible to operate on a daily basis against the Israeli settlements and the numerous Israeli army bases, and that if Israel withdraws to the 1967 borders, the resistance will operate from the West Bank to free the rest of Palestine.

Fatah declares refusal to recognize Israel as Jewish state By KHALED ABU TOAMEH  11/27/2010 19:45 Revolutionary Council urges PA to foil J'lem-Golan Heights referendum law; dismisses US supplying Israel weapons in exchange for freeze.

The Fatah Revolutionary Council concluded its fifth convention in Ramallah over the weekend by declaring its refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. The council also urged the Palestinian Authority leadership to work toward foiling a new Israeli law requiring a referendum before any withdrawal from Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.

The Palestinians are opposed to any understandings between Israel and the US that could harm their interests, the council said.

“The council affirms its rejection of the so-called Jewish state or any other formula that could achieve this goal,” said a statement issued by the council. “The council also renews its refusal for the establishment of any racist state based on religion in accordance with international law and human rights conventions.”

The statement said that the Fatah council was categorically opposed to proposals for a land swap between Israel and the Palestinians under the pretext that “illegal settler gangs can’t be put on an equal footing with the owners of the lands and rights.”

The Fatah leaders said they supported Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s policies, especially with regards to the peace process with Israel. “The council salutes President Mahmoud Abbas for adhering to the basic rights, first and foremost the right of return for Palestinian refugees,” the statement said. “Also, the council salutes President Abbas for standing up against pressure aimed at resuming the peace talks without achieving the demands of the Palestinians.”

Referring to the new Israeli measure regarding Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, the council said the law was in violation of international law and urged the PA leadership to make efforts through the UN and the Security Council to thwart it.

Abbas told the Fatah leaders during the three-day gathering that the Palestinians want a just and comprehensive peace, but would not compromise on their rights. Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, behind the planned bomb in Portland told an undercover agent in August that he "had found the perfect location for a terrorist attack: the city's annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony".

He said during the hotel meeting he had "dreamed of carrying out an attack for years, and the city's Pioneer Courthouse Square would be packed with thousands. A huge mass that will...be attacked in their own element with their families celebrating the holidays."

Mohamud, scheduled for court on Monday, has been followed for four years. When he was 15 and a student at Beaverton's high school, he told undercover agents about a prayer he made for guidance "about whether I should...go, you know, and make a jihad in a different country or to make like an operation here."

In one meeting, Mohamud told an agent, posing as an extremist, ways he could help "the cause" from "praying five times a day" to "becoming a martyr". But, he "thought of putting an explosion together but that he needed help doing so."

When he was warned several times of that women and children could die, he declined to back out.

Mohamud also made a video dressed in what he called "Sheik Osama style" which included a white robe, red and white headdress and camouflage jacket. In the video, he went on to "read a statement on his dream of bringing a dark day on Americans and blamed his family for getting in the way".

In his statement, Mohamud said, "To my parents who held me back from Jihad in the cause of Allah. I say to them...if you - if you make allies with the enemy, then Allah's power...will ask you about that on the day of judgment, and nothing that you do can hold me back."... Lahore: November 25, 2010. A court in Pakistan has freed a Christian man who was wrongly jailed for 25 years for blasphemy after he allegedly defiled the Koran, the Muslim holy book, by touching it with unwashed hands.

Munir Masih, had consistently denied the allegations against him, arguing that they were false and made maliciously by a Muslim neighbour whose child had been involved in a quarrel with his 10-year-old son.

He has been freed on bail but his wife, Ruqqiya Bibbi,who was also given a 25-year sentence for the offence, is still in jail awaiting the outcome of her application for bail.

They are both appealing against sentence and conviction after Muhammad Nawaz, the man who accused them, admitted they were innocent and indicated that was willing to submit an affidavit to confirm this.

CLAAS (Centre for Legal Aid Assistance and Settlement), a London and Lahore-based group fighting for the rights of Christians persecuted in Pakistan, said the case demonstrated how the country’s severe blasphemy laws continue to be misused.

“We are very delighted by the success of this case and pray for Ruqqiya to be freed next week,” said CLAAS directors Nasir Saeed and Joseph Francis in a joint statement.

“But we are still concerned about the many other innocent victims of this law who are being jailed, and suffering immensely, because of their faith,” they said.

“CLAAS continues to campaign for the repeal of the blasphemy law and urge the government of Pakistan to amend the law,” they added.

Munir, a labourer, will be released on Saturday November 27 after a decision on Tuesday November 23 by Mr Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry at the High Court in Lahore to grant him bail with a surety bond of 100,000 rupees (£733).

His wife’s application will be heard at the High Court next week.

The pair had previously lived together at Karmawali Mustifabad Tehsil in the Kasur district of the country with their six children – Sonia, Amna, Ameer, Akash, Muqadass and Shabir.

Their ordeal began on 8 December 2008 when a Muslim boy slapped Muqadass, then aged five, across the face, prompting his elder brother, Ameer, 10, to defend his brother by striking the boy back. That evening the boys’ parents turned up at the family’s home with their relatives and began abusing Ruqqiya. Shortly afterwards the couple were accused by their neighbours of defiling the Koran and they were arrested. The offence carries a life sentence under the Pakistani Penal Code.

In January 2009 the pair were released on bail only to be reported by same neighbours the following February of insulting Muhammad, the founder of Islam, an offence which carries the death penalty under Section 295-C of the code.

During a bail application in May 2009 about 50 radical Muslim clerics tried to storm the courtroom while others promised to kill Ruqqiya and Munir whatever the outcome of their trial.

They were released from custody in October 2009 after CLAAS filed a third application for bail and went into hiding.

In February this year a jury in Kasur cleared them of defaming Muhammad but convicted them of the lesser offence. They were sentenced to life on March 2. CLAAS filed their recent appeal for bail with the High Court, through its lawyers Tahir Gul Sadiq, Nasir Anjum and Tanvir Gill. The organisation hopes that the family will be reunited for Christmas. A melhor defesa que os Muçulmanos no Brasil podem apresentar para defender a INEGÁVEL natureza bélica do Islam, é que os ocorridos são “fatos isolados” e que eles não representam a verdadeira cara do Islam. Eu repetidamente tenho pedido que algum muçulmano faca uma defesa deste argumento de forma lógica e convincente, mas tudo o que eles me apresentam são chavões e frases desconectadas da realidade. Eles também acusam a MÍDIA de distorcer a verdade sobre o Islam. So faltava esta. Concordo que a mídia geralmente não apresenta a verdade em vários aspectos, mas neste caso a mídia esta protegendo o Islam mais do que nunca. A mídia reflete os fatos, mas geralmente não inventa os fatos. Para ser curto e grosso, vou mostrar a vocês, o verso do Alcorão que mais inflama os muçulmanos e os terroristas a cometerem atos de terrorismo. Ele se encontra na Sura 9:29 “Combatei aqueles que não crêem em Allah e no Dia do Juízo Final, nem abstêm do que Allah e Seu Profeta (Maomé) proibiram, e nem professam a verdadeira religião (Islam) entre aqueles que receberam o Livro, (Cristãos e Judeus) até que, submissos, paguem o Jizya.” Este verso da a motivação ideológica para todos os terroristas e bons muçulmanos. Esta religião chamada Islam é totalitária e esta empenhada na destruição das democracias para implantarem a Lei Islâmica Sharia. Notem que a razão que Maomé deu para se COMBATER aos que não crêem em Allah, não se abstêm das proibições do Islam e nem professam o Islam, é puramente RELIGIOSA. Notem que o verso cita especificamente os Cristãos e Judeus que deverão ser combatidos ate que eles sejam subjugados ou paguem o imposto chamado Jizya. Quando isso acontecera? No dia em que o Islam dominar o mundo. A luta somente acabara quando a lei Islâmica (Sharia) reger o mundo inteiro. Então haverá paz. Para concluir este assunto quero citar uma das mais respeitadas obras Islâmicas para provar o meu ponto. A luta nunca terminara ate que todos os Judeus sejam aniquilados. Isso esta claro na teologia Islâmica. A coleção de Hadith de Sahih Muslim numero 6985, traz varias informações importantes sobre o assunto: “Abu Huraira disse que o Mensageiro de Allah (paz seja sobre ele) disse: A ultima hora (Juízo final) não chegara ate que os Muçulmanos lutem contra os Judeus e os Muçulmanos os matarão, ate ao ponto que os Judeus se esconderão atrás de uma rocha ou de uma arvore, e a rocha ou a arvore dirá: ‘Muçulmanos, ou servos de Allah, tem um Judeu atrás de mim; venha e o mate’; Mas a arvore Gharqad não dirá isso, porque ela é uma arvore dos Judeus.” Primeiro, esta tradição acima é a maior garantia e a maior motivação do Hamas e todos as organizações terroristas que um dia eles irão erradicar os judeus de Israel. Se Allah prometeu quem sao eles para duvidar? Segundo, esta tradição fala do FINAL DOS TEMPOS, dando a entender claramente que a guerra ira durar ate o final da historia como nos a conhecemos. Não existem chances das coisas mudarem porque o deus do Islam prometeu que não haverá paz ate o final. Terceiro, na teologia Islâmica, as arvores e as pedras, comida, animais e insetos falam. Já discutimos isso no artigo Mohamed e a formiga falante. Porem o mais trágico neste tradição é ver que os Muçulmanos estão condicionados a odiarem um grupo de pessoas (Cristãos) ou um povo (Judeus) somente pelo fato deles nao crerem no seu profeta ou serem Judeus. Mas será que isso é um fato isolado? Acabei de ler a noticia que um jovem PROTO-TERRORISTA SOMALI de 19 anos, chamado Mohamed Osman Mohamud, que reside em Portland no Oregon acabou de ser preso porque planejava explodir um carro bomba no meio de uma rua movimentada, durante as comemorações do feriado. Ao ser preso ele gritava “Allahu Akbar!” que em árabe significa literalmente “Allah é o MAIOR”. Alguém pode dizer que este é seguramente este foi um fato isolado. O que levaria este jovem rapaz a fazer isso? Seria a injustiça social que ele sofre nos Estados Unidos? Será que ele não teria uma vida melhor se ele estivesse na Somália, um pais Islâmico que “oferece tantas oportunidades de emprego, moradia, educação e segurança publica”? Se este foi um fato isolado, será que temos outros? Não se pode fundamentar uma ideologia terrorista em um caso de um jovem africano que procura matar o maior numero possível de pessoas. CERTO? ERRADO! Ele se junta a galeria de HERÓIS ISLÂMICOS que se inspiraram no exemplo do Profeta Maomé, na literatura Islâmica e nas conquistas Islâmicas dos últimos 1400 anos. Um deles é Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. Um Nigeriano MUÇULMANO que tentou EXPLODIR o AVIÃO da Northwest, vôo 253, que ida de Amsterdã para Detroit. Ele foi enquadrado em seis crimes, incluindo tentativa de usar armas de destruição de massas e tentativa de assassinato de 289 pessoas. Outro que foi inspirado pelos ideais Islâmicos é o Faisal Shahzad. Um outro terrorista Islâmico de apenas 31 aninhos de idade, que tentou EXPLODIR UMA CARRO BOMBA no centro da TIMES SQUARE em Nova Iorque no dia 1 de Maio, 2010. Ele queria matar centenas de pessoas e foi enquadrado no crime de tentativa de usar armas de destruição de massas. Logicamente isso não tem nada a ver com os 18 terroristas Muçulmanos que foram presos no Canadá que pegaram 10 anos de prisão por tentarem explodir lugares como o Parlamento Canadense. Este grupo também recrutava outros “muçulmanos pacíficos e bem intencionados” que tinham pontos de vistas semelhantes ao deles. Mas todos estes são fatos isolados. Claro! Outro fato isolado de Muçulmanos terroristas é aquele caso dos terroristas que foram presos na Itália. Eles simplesmente estavam procurando atacar o METRO de MILÃO e a Igreja Catedral. Depois de serem condenados por terrorismo eles foram expulsos do pais. Será que estes são fatos isolados que não servem de base para dizer que o Islam é o denominador comum entre eles? Outro fato isolado aconteceu na Arábia Saudita, a mãe do Islamismo. As autoridades Sauditas anunciaram a prisão de 149 membros da Al-Qaida que estavam planejando atacar civis e o governo Saudita. Nem eles escapam da maldição que eles criaram. Outro fato isolado aconteceu Alemanha, Holanda e Bélgica com a prisão de 10 terroristas Islâmicos. Um grupo de JIHAD que residia em Antuérpia (famosa pelos diamantes e pela grande concentração de Judeus na cidade) recrutava mais “gente boa” como os acima citados para participar de atividades terroristas. Me parece que estes FATOS ISOLADOS estão cada dia mais GENERALIZADOS, vocês não acham? Se nos não agirmos rápido, “a moda” se espalhara pelo Brasil, se já não for tarde demais. The neologism “Islamophobia” did not simply emerge ex nihilo. It was invented, deliberately, by a Muslim Brotherhood front organization, the International Institute for Islamic Thought, which is based in Northern Virginia. If that name dimly rings a bell, it should: I’ve mentioned it before, and it’s particularly important because it was co-founded by Anwar Ibrahim–the hero of Moderate Islam who is now trotting around the globe comparing his plight to that of Aung San Suu Kyi.

Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, a former member of the IIIT who has renounced the group in disgust, was an eyewitness to the creation of the word. “This loathsome term,” he writes, is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliche conceived in the bowels of Muslim think tanks for the purpose of beating down critics.

In another article concerning the many moderate Muslims whose voices have been drowned out by Saudi-financed Muslim Brotherhood front groups, Muhammad describes the strategy behind the word’s invention:

In an effort to silence critics of political Islam, advocates needed to come up with terminology that would enable them to portray themselves as victims. Muhammad said he was present when his then-allies, meeting at the offices of the International Institute for Islamic Thought (IIIT) in Northern Virginia years ago, coined the term “Islamophobia.”

Muhammad said the Islamists decided to emulate the homosexual activists who used the term “homophobia” to silence critics. He said the group meeting at IIIT saw “Islamophobia” as a way to “beat up their critics.”

Really imagine that scene: a bunch of Islamists admiring how astutely the queers–people who in their ideal world would be served with the lash or hanged–had portrayed their critics as mentally disturbed. Brilliant. Let’s take a leaf from them and then kill them. The association of anti-Islamism–the noblest form of liberal anti-totalitarianism–with gay-bashing rednecks in the grip of a psychosexual panic was not just one of those linguistic accidents of history, in other words. These guys were sitting there in Virginia and really thinking about the best way to exploit the weaknesses of the Western psyche. They came up with this word–and admit it, it’s clever; I challenge you to find a better one if you want to yank the West’s chain–and they marketed it with petrodollars, and now it truly does drive public discourse and policy the world over.

The fact that the IIIT was co-founded by Anwar Ibrahim, who is now on trial for sodomy–something of a homophobic charge, that--would be almost hilarious in its just-deserts irony if Anwar hadn’t succeeded in portraying himself as the moderate darling of Muslim moderation whose plight should now trouble the liberal conscience of the West, no matter his own role in exploiting it.

So Anwar Ibrahim– our moderate man in moderate Malaysia–is the moderate man behind this Orwellian effort to render the West incapable of objecting even verbally to political Islam. The gift of “Islamophobia” is just the beginning of the story.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Somali-born teenager plotted to carry out a car bomb attack at a crowded Christmas tree lighting ceremony in downtown Portland on Friday, but the bomb turned out to be a dud supplied by undercover agents as part of a sting, federal prosecutors said.

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. just after he dialed a cell phone that he thought would blow up a van laden with explosives but instead brought federal agents and Portland police swooping in to take him into custody.

Mohamud yelled "Allahu Akhkbar" and tried to kick agents and police as the arrest came, according to prosecutors.

He was charged with attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.

U.S. Attorney Dwight Holton released federal court documents Friday that show the sting operation began in June after an undercover agent learned that Mohamud had been in contact with an "unindicted associate" in Pakistan's Northwest Frontier region.

Mohamud is a naturalized U.S. citizen who has been living in Corvallis.

According to a federal complaint, Mohamud was in regular email contact with the "unindicted associate' in Pakistan's Northwest Frontier starting in August 2009.

The complaint states that in December 2009 Mohamud and the "unindicted associate" used coded language in an email in which the FBI believes Mohamud discussed traveling to Pakistan to prepare for "violent jihad."...

Last June an FBI agent contacted Mohamud "under the guise of being affiliated with the first associate."

Mohamud and the undercover agent agreed to meet in Portland on July 30. At that meeting, the undercover agent and Mohamud "discussed violent jihad," according to the court document.

LAHORE, Pakistan -- Pakistani Muslims threatened protests and anarchy if the government pardons a Christian mother sentenced to death for blasphemy, calling hundreds of demonstrators onto the streets on Friday. Demonstrators marched in the eastern city of Lahore after the most influential Sunni Muslim alliance in Pakistan urged the government not to grant mother-of-five Aasia Bibi clemency. A crowd of several hundred called for "Jihad" and pledged to sacrifice their lives to protect the honour of the Prophet Mohammad, an AFP reporter said.

Once again the mainstream media assumes all its readers are Muslim, naming Muhammad a "prophet" without qualification.

The rally was organised by a subsidiary of banned charity Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), which the United Nations has blacklisted as a terrorist organisation. "We will hold nationwide protests if the government pardons the Christian woman," the subsidiary's chief coordinator, Qari Yaqub, told participants. Politicians and conservative clerics have been at loggerheads over whether President Asif Ali Zardari should pardon Bibi, who was sentenced on November 8 to hang under controversial blasphemy laws for defaming the Prophet Mohammed. "The pardon would lead to anarchy in the country," the head of the Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Fazal Kareem, told AFP. "Our stand is very clear that this punishment cannot be waived." Entrevista: Cristãos no Irão à beira da extinção?

Visto que os cristãos fogem em grande número do Irã, tanto por razões políticas como religiosas, a comunidade cristã corre verdadeiro perigo de extinção, afirma o jornalista e observador das Igrejas do Oriente Médio, Camille Eid. Camille Eid é libanês e vive na Itália onde é professor do idioma árabe na prestigiada Universidade Católica de Milão e na Universidade Biccocca Milão. Ele é também presidente da Federação Árabe Fenícia que estuda a cultura árabe. Nesta entrevista, Camille Eid explica como é a vida para um cristão que vive no Irã e como e por que os cristãos persas são proibidos pelos muçulmanos de orar no idioma persa em seus cultos a Cristo.

Pergunta: O Irã tem 99% de muçulmanos e o islã é a religião do Estado. As raízes da Igreja no Irã são muito antigas e remontam ao século II. O cristianismo é a religião mais antiga do Irã? Camille Eid: Não, temos duas comunidades mais antigas que o cristianismo. Em primeiro lugar, temos a comunidade zoroástrica, que remonta a vários séculos antes da chegada do cristianismo e do islã. Em segundo lugar, temos a comunidade judaica. A comunidade zoroástrica soma cerca de 20 mil pessoas, e a judaica, entre 20 e 35 mil. Estas duas comunidades são mais antigas que a cristã.

Pergunta: Hoje, o Irã é mais de 99% muçulmano. Como o islã permeia a vida cotidiana? Camille Eid: Se você estiver nas ruas de Teerã, ou em qualquer parte do país, verá o retrato dos mártires, do Aiatolá. Se você usar o telefone de uma cabine pública, escutará a voz do imã Hussein lhe dizendo o que fazer.

Pergunta: Assim que você tira o telefone do gancho, ouvirá imediatamente uma voz (gravada) do imã? Camille Eid: Sim. E nas escolas são permitidas diversas disciplinas, mas por meio da perspectiva que se baseia no Alcorão e no Hadit e outras ciências islâmicas.

Pergunta: A imagem do Aiatolá está estampada na capa dos livros de catecismo? Camille Eid: Exatamente. E pode ser uma forma de mostrar que os cristãos estão sob a proteção do regime e são considerados dhimmis (pessoas protegidas) na lei Sharia islâmica. É uma forma de dizer que vocês (os cristãos) estão sob nosso regime (islâmico).

Pergunta: Eu ia lhe perguntar sobre as patrulhas que fiscalizam se as mulheres se vestem de modo adequado. Camille Eid: É assim. Algumas vezes utilizam a linha dura e outras, não, dependendo do regime. Sob Khatami, por exemplo, foram um pouco mais liberais porque as crianças podiam mostrar um pouco de sua cabeça. Sob Ahmadinejad é mais restrito.

Pergunta: Atualmente a restrição é maior com a vestimenta completa? Camille Eid: Sim. Só se deve mostrar o rosto. Há mulheres que cobrem as mãos e o rosto.

Pergunta: O número de cristãos é de cerca de 100 mil em uma população de 71 milhões. Como são vistos os cristãos no Irã? Camille Eid: Os cristãos são vistos como minorias étinicas porque são predominantemente armênios, e sírio-caldeus. Temos 80 mil armênios ortodoxos que também são chamados de armênios gregorianos ou apostólicos, 5 mil católicos armênios, e cerca de 20 mil sírio-caldeus, e mais outras comunidades como igrejas latinas, protestantes, que, todas juntas, somam entre 100 e 110 mil cristãos. São vistos como minorias étnicas e, como tais, não é permitido que celebrem seus ritos em parsi (o idioma persa), mas sim em armênio ou caldeu.

Pergunta: Para distingui-los como estrangeiros?- Camille Eid: Não só por isso, mas para evitar que sejam atrativos e compreendidos pelos iranianos locais.

Pergunta: Para evitar que os iranianos se sintam atraídos pela fé cristã? Camille Eid: Sim, para evitar que os iranianos compreendam o que os cristãos dizem. Só houve um caso; foi em Teerã poucos dias depois da morte do Papa João Paulo II, e o sacerdote leu as Escrituras em parsi na presença das autoridades. Este foi um caso excepcional.

Pergunta: Mas ainda assim o Parlamento reserva três assentos para os cristãos. Portanto, os cristãos têm voz dentro da estrutura parlamentarista? Camille Eid: De fato, a República Islâmica conservou a Constituição de 1906, que reserva cinco assentos para as minorias – três para os cristãos, um para os zoroástricos, e outro para os judeus.

Pergunta: Os direitos cristãos estão garantidos pela Constituição? Camille Eid: Não. No artigo 13, é mencionado que todos os iranianos são iguais pela raça e pela língua, mas não se mencionada nada pela religião. No artigo 14, se me permite lê-lo: “todas as comunidades não muçulmanas se absterão de tomar parte em conspirações contra o islã e contra a República islâmica do Irã”. E por último, o artigo 19 estabelece: “todos iranianos de qualquer grupo étnico devem gozar dos mesmos direitos e a cor, raça ou língua não oferecem privilégio algum”. Aqui também não há nenhuma referência à religião.

Pergunta: Mas não diz, dentro do artigo 13 da Constituição, que os cristãos são permitidos de expressar seus desejos e praticar sua fé? Camille Eid: Sempre que não formem parte de conspirações contra a República do Irã. O que significa isso? Significa protestar contra o regime? O problema do Irã é ser um regime teocrático. Assim a oposição ao regime como uma ação política pode ser interpretada como agir contra a República Islâmica. Dentro da comunidade islâmica, estão os liberais e os conservadores. Ao protestar contra o Aiatolá Khamenei estão protestando contra o corpo político do regime ou contra o religioso? Quando o regime político e religioso tem a mesma formação, um ataque contra o corpo político é considerado um ataque a um aspecto religioso do regime teocrático.

Pergunta: Quais as restrições que os cristãos enfrentam em sua vida diária? Camille Eid: Bem, para os cristãos é difícil encontrar trabalhos na administração pública. Mesmo diretores de colégios cristãos são muçulmanos, mas com uma exceção. Em Esfahan, há três ou quatro anos, quando o governo nomeou um armênio para o Colégio Armênio. Mas na maioria dos casos os diretores das escolas cristãs são muçulmanos. Isso para os poucos colégios cristãos que ficaram após os confiscos de 1979 e 1980. Outro exemplo no Exército. Há alguns anos descobriram que um oficial, o coronel Hamid Pourmand, havia se convertido ao cristianismo. Foi processado e foi levado à corte marcial, mas graças à pressão internacional pôde abandonar o Irã. É muito difícil que os cristãos estejam em cargos altos do governo no Irã.

Pergunta: Que vida tem um muçulmano convertido? Camille Eid: Nada pode confessar sua fé dentro do Irã. Só é possível se for ao estrangeiro. Conheço duas famílias iranianas na Itália que são convertidas. Uma das famílias cruzou a fronteira entre Irã e Turquia no inverno. Foi difícil, mas conseguiram asilo. Dentro do Irã não podiam expressar ou mostrar sua fé porque enfrentariam a morte. Não é Fácil.

Pergunta: Queria tocar na questão da fuga de cristãos do Irã após a revolução islâmica de 1979. Cerca da metade da população cristã abandonou o país e existe, até onde pude ler e entender, cerca de 10 mil famílias que abandonam o Irã a cada ano. O que significa isso para a comunidade cristã no Irã? Camille Eid: Tanto os muçulmanos quanto os não muçulmanos sofrem com a pressão política, mas os cristãos sofrem o dobro, porque é o aspecto político do regime que é questionado pela maioria dos iranianos e, sobre este fato, há a pressão religiosa para os não muçulmanos. Essa é a razão desta fuga massiva e, de fato, há um verdadeiro perigo de desaparecimento, de uma extinção do cristianismo no Irã.

Muçulmanos tentam impor as suas normas nas escolas cristãs

As Muslim enrollment increases at Christian schools, especially in Europe, so too does interfaith conflict at such institutions. A recent piece in Le Figaro highlights the stresses placed on French Catholic schools in particular. For example, the report describes how one had set up a crib for Advent, but "a Muslim parent demanded its removal, saying 'a Muslim cannot hear that Jesus is the Son of God.'" At another, Muslims walked all over a well-intentioned but hapless administrator:

A headmistress … offered Muslim students a room in which to pray and to help them avoid being caught in rain in the school courtyard. The students have turned it into a prayer room and invite other people who have nothing to do with the school to pray with them. Since then the director has been unable to use this space for other activities.

Of course, Christian schools also share many of the challenges faced by secular ones, such as students refusing to swim during Ramadan due to fear of swallowing water (an old standard). No word from Le Figaro on whether Muslims in French Catholic schools respond to lessons on evolution or the Holocaust any more positively than their public school counterparts do.

A 2008 New York Times article explains that France's hijab ban in state-run classes has pushed Muslims to Catholic schools, which are not bound by this law and must accept students of all faiths to qualify for subsidies. Yet even the less critical Times piece could not ignore the ensuing cultural friction. For example, it relates the story of one Catholic school's headmaster who, after a series of accommodations, finally had to "put his foot down when students asked to remove the crucifix in a classroom they wanted for communal prayers during Ramadan."

Christian schools elsewhere are caught in a similar cycle. NIS News reported in 2008 that "two Amsterdam secondary schools with a Christian basis are to close during [Eid al-Fitr] to accede to their Muslim pupils." A year later, a Dutch Catholic elementary school with a handful of Muslims was planning to serve halal food at a Christmas meal, but officials reversed course following parental outrage. In the UK, bishops have recommended that Catholic schools include prayer rooms and washing facilities for Muslims. The Times of London has also noted that at least one Muslim-heavy Church of England school "no longer observes the requirement to have an act of daily collective worship that is 'consistently and recognizably Christian.'"

Showing more backbone, Catholic schools in Ireland have banned niqabs for pupils, while an English one recently barred a face-covering visitor. The board of Trinity University in Texas, which is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, also earns credit for resisting demands, initially driven by Muslim students, to remove the phrase "In the Year of Our Lord" from diplomas.

Overall, the situation in many Christian schools resembles David Solway's analogy of the West's multicultural experiment: you welcome a guest into your home, only to watch him "introduce a new set of house rules which you, the proprietor, are expected to abide by." But who really deserves greater blame here: the pushy guest or the owner who is too timid to stand his ground? Read more at www.islamist-watch.org

The Muslim revulsion for dogs comes from Muhammad: "Ibn Mughaffal reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered killing of the dogs, and then said: What about them, i. e. about other dogs? and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time." -- Sahih Muslim 551

Here again, even in the West, non-Muslims must accommodate Muslim mores -- never the other way around.

Sharia Alert from Staffordshire. "Blind couple's anger as taxi refuses guide dog," from the Staffordshire Newsletter, November 25 (thanks to Europe News):

A BLIND couple were "disgusted" to be turned away by a Stafford taxi driver because of their award-winning guide dog. Doreen and Ernest Dix were refused entry to a cab parked at the pick-up point behind Stafford market last week. The Great Haywood pensioners claim the driver did not want Blake, the current West Midlands guide dog of the year, in his cab. This contravenes the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005 and can land offenders a £1,000 fine unless they certify they have a dog allergy. Mrs Dix, 71, said this was the first time her golden retriever-labrador cross had been rejected from a taxi. She said: "I can barely see, but saw the driver wave his hands and say 'no, no, no' as we approached his cab. "We were both very upset and were made to feel really small, but just got the next taxi in the end. "We're moving to Stafford soon and this is a very poor start indeed." Eight-two-year-old Mr Dix, whose eyesight is worse than his wife's, was "appalled" by the driver's behaviour. He said: "I've been registered blind for 28 years and have never been discriminated against by a taxi driver before this. "If he isn't willing to pick up certain people, then he shouldn't be in a queue of taxis earmarked for shoppers. "The driver we eventually used agreed it was appalling it made me feel like a second-class citizen."... Get used to it. More is coming. In recent years, there have been reports of Muslim drivers refusing the blind due to their doctrine's assertion that dogs are unclean. However, the DDA does not consider this an excuse.... The Hamas media is mourning the loss of their latest member to be killed. The Palestine Times headlines the article "In Jabalia - the Martyrdom of an al-Qassam Mujahid." The English Al Qassam website spoke of the fallen fighter in glowing terms:

The Ezzeden Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, mourned on Thursday evening November 25th one of its heroes, the mujahed Bilal Maher Zaqout ,22, from Jabalia refugee camp. ...Ezzeden Al Qassam Brigades said in its military communiqué that the mujahed was martyred after a long bright path of jihad, hard work, struggle and sacrifice. In addition, the Brigades reaffirmed the commitment and determination to continue the resistance against the belligerent occupation forces. Finally, the Brigades prayed to Allah to accept the martyrdom of the mujahed and to grant his family patience and solace

And what heroic thing was he doing when he became a martyr? Here's how they described it in paragraph 2:

The Brigades announced in a military communiqué released on Thursday evening that the mujahed Bilal Maher Zaqout was martyred due to a live bullet fired by mistake while he was cleaning his own gun in Jabalia refugee camp north of the Gaza Strip.
