Um bispo, como qualquer cristão, deve estar sempre pronto a aceitar a humilhação pessoal: o discípulo não é mais que o Mestre, o qual foi cuspido, esbofeteado, flagelado, crucificado e, lembre-se, condenado injustamente.
As questãõe são outras: o homem é um prelado. Não há segurança nestes eventos? Quatro agressões no espaço de poucas horas, todas no recinto duma universidade?
Por outro lado, as justificações invocadas consistem simplesmemte na defesa das posições católicas face a questões morais concretas, as quais não passam pela apologia de qualquer tipo de descriminação nem de incitamento ao ódio ou a maus tratos.
Embora não goste deste tipo de expressão, talvez «cristianofobia» seja o termo adequado para designar as motivações invocadas pelos perpetradores destas agressões: afinal, trata-se precisamente de uma aversão marcadaente irracional não tanto contra os cristãos, mas contra o cristianismo.

Los autores de los hechos, que se identifican a sí mismos como miembros de la "Internacional Pastelera", se jactan de haber agredido a personajes de fama internacional como Nicolás Sarkozy o Bill Gates a base de tartazos en la cara.

De esta forma fue atacado el Arzobispo Primado de Bélgica, André-Joseph Leonard, el pasado 5 de abril en varias ocasiones, la primera de ellas cuando se disponía a entrar en la Universidad Católica de Lovaina para participar en un debate, y tres veces más durante el desarrollo del mismo. No era la primara vez que el primado belga sufría un ataque por parte de este colectivo, pues ya el día de Todos los Santos tenía lugar un hecho similar en Bruselas, mientras el primado se encontraba celebrando misa en una capilla adyacente a la catedral de Saints-Michel-et-Gudule Además de colgar los vídeos de las agresiones en youtube, los autores de los ataques envían a las principales agencias de prensa comunicados explicando las razones de los mismos. En el último de ellos, sus autores declaran que "se lo merecía, por todos los homosexuales que no se atreven a decir a sus padres que lo son y por todas las chicas jóvenes que quieren abortar". Monseñor Leonard, firme defensor de la doctrina de la Iglesia relativa a la homosexualidad y al aborto, se ha convertido en uno de los blancos predilectos de la actual corriente cristianofóbica que recorre todo el mundo. El pasado 25 de marzo participó en Bruselas en la Marcha por la Vida, con la que Bélgica se sumó a las diversas iniciativas que tuvieron lugar en todo el mundo con motivo del Día Internacional de la Vida. Subsídios para a compreensão do massacre no Rio

As informações disponíveis sobre o Massacre da Escola do Realengo são insuficientes para que se chegue a uma conclusão, mas dão pistas para que possamos ao menos imaginar algumas hipóteses que nelas se encaixem. Em primeiro lugar, é óbvio que o agente do massacre estava a ser alvo do proselitismo islâmico, mas não se pode afirmar que a ordem para o atentado partiu dos seus tutores. Porém, uma coisa é certa: o tipo era obviamente um mentecapto perigoso e a sua fixação pela violência, coisa que ele sempre exteriorizou, torna todos os que conviveram com este idiota em cúmplices, ainda que numa medida pequena, do crime. Como é possível que os seus mestres no Islão, que com ele conviveram tanto tempo e o conheceram melhor do que ninguém, não tenham reparado que o rapaz era um psicopata perigoso? Será pelo facto de que desejariam usá-lo futuramente para fins que se acomodam a este tipo de perfil? Não duvidaria disso, ainda mais por saber que nos últimos anos o terrorismo islâmico tem recorrido a deficientes mentais para levar a cabo a sua propaganda armada. Mas é possível que não tenham sido os islamistas que inspiraram o rapaz a praticar este acto, ou que o tenham feito em colaboração com outros interesses que visam o desarmamento de todos os cidadãos brasileiros cumpridores da lei. Uma semana antes do atentado, um perfil falso numa rede social atribuído ao deputado Jair Bolsonaro, um dos alvos a abater pelos esquerdistas brasileiros, anunciou numa discussão qualquer sobre o "bullying" que um massacre semelhante ao atentado de Columbine aconteceria no Brasil. Mais estranha foi a reacção imediata dos esquerdistas no Brasil, que já conseguiram até marcar um novo referendo sobre o porte de armas. A coordenação da acção de todas as associações envolvidas na campanha desarmamentista no Brasil, a força com que ela foi despoletada e a coincidência disso tudo com uma onda de perseguição ao deputado mais estridente na defesa do direito à auto-defesa, o senhor Jair Bolsonaro, para além da rapidez com que um novo referendo sobre o porte de armas foi aprovado e a pressa em fazê-lo (3 meses), o que indica a vontade expressa de se aproveitar os cadáveres ainda quentes das vítimas desse crime para induzir o voto dos fracos de espírito à aceitação da proibição da auto-defesa, são elementos que ninguém poderá deixar de ter em mente ao analisar o que se passou no Rio de Janeiro.

Gazans Abduct Italian ISM Activist

Salafist Muslims in Gaza have kidnapped Vittorio Arrigoni, an Italian member of the anti-Israel International Solidarity Movement (ISM), Bethlehem-based Ma’an News reported Thursday.

The kidnappers belong to A-Tawheed wal Jihad, a terror group of the Salafist Muslim stream. They have released a video showing Arrigoni bruised, tied and blindfolded, and text scrolling across the screen “threatens that he will die unless Hamas releases Salafist prisoners by 5 p.m. Friday.”

The organization wants Hamas to release all of the members of their organization who are currently jailed. Topping the list is a senior member of the group, Hisham al-Sa’adi.

Sources in Gaza told Voice of Israel state-run radio that Arrigoni has been living in Gaza for several years after arriving there on one of the Free Gaza boats.

Arrigoni writes a blog for for Guerrilla Radio and for communist newspaper Il Manifesto. During Israel’s Cast Lead counter terrorist offensive in Gaza, he wrote: “Israel has every right to laugh and sing, even while it massacres its neighbor. Palestinians are only asking to die a different death, one of old age.”

É preciso ser estúpido para acredtar que o "ateísmo por um mundo melhor", o inventor do terrorismo bombista suicida, é o caminho para a paz no mundo. Toda a ideologia que define um alvo como inimigo da humanidade e de um futuro de prosperidade global, implica a classificação desse inimigo como merecedor de violência.. É por isso que os ateus militantes portugueses ficam caladinhos que nem ratos perante esses crimes dos seus camaradas espanhóis. São só ateus a cometerem excessos, numa luta de legítima defesa contra a pior coisa à face da Terra. Como os poderiam condenar? Por mais crimes que um ateu cometa para mudar o mundo, eles estarão sempre legitimados. A religião fez sempre pior, e o fim da religião possibilitará o maior bem. There is a civil war in the Ivory Coast between Muslims and Christians. Unsurprisingly the EU has chosen to back the Muslim side. France is using armed force to insure that the Muslims take over.

Islam came to the Ivory Coast via Berber slave traders. Now it is trying to take over with mass murder and the backing of the ‘international community’. The post-colonial Ivory Coast was a success story. But Muslim immigration has turned it into a nightmare.

The media narrative on the Cote D’Ivorie crisis is that Muslim thug Alassane Ouattarra is the legitimately elected leader of the country. But Alassane Ouattarra had a Birther problem of his own. Under Ivory Coast law, the president and his parents have to be native born. Alassane Ouattarra was born in the Ivory Coast, but his father wasn’t. That legally disqualified him from holding office. He tried for it anyway despite a Supreme Court ruling barring him.

Ouattarra tried to present forged documents, resulting in a warrant for his arrest. He ran for office yet again. But this time he brought large numbers of Muslim immigrants who were not legally qualified to vote to the polls. Numerically he won, but the invalid votes were thrown out by the Constitutional Council. The ‘international community’ chose to back Ouattarra, who had no legal right to even stand for office, and his illegal Muslim voters. Now they’re doing everything possible to put him in power.

Let’s be clear about what is going on here. Gbago is no saint– few African leaders are. But Alassane Ouattarra and his Muslim thugs are trying to turn the Ivory Coast into another Sudan filled with the bodies of Christians and Animists. Backing an Ouattarra takeover means backing another Muslim genocide against Christians and Animists.

The Obama Administration has pushed for the replacement of Gbago with Ouattarra. The UN has used mostly unproven war crimes allegations, that smack of events in Yugoslavia, to conduct a war to put Ouattarra and his Muslim thugs in power. Meanwhile the UN did not intervene military when Muslims were engaged in genocide in Sudan. UN peacekeepers serve as Ouattara’s private bodyguard.

Despite all the lies about acting on behalf of Ivorians– the UN is acting on behalf of Muslims. On behalf of Ouattara and the Muslim immigrants drawn by the wealth of Côte d’Ivoire.

The numbers tell the tale. In 1957, Muslims barely made up 20 percent of the country. In the 90′s, they were already half the country. The boom has come from migrant workers. Many of whom were enlisted to vote for Ouattara.

This civil war hinges on the question of whether Muslim immigrants should be allowed to take over the Côte d’Ivoire. The UN says yes. Obama says yes. France says yes. But this is a preview of coming attractions for Europe and America as well.

Al-Jazeera began pushing the “We need to be paying more attention to the Ivory Coast” meme. And we’re paying attention to make the Muslims win. As usual.

Ouattara’s forces massacred a 1,000 Christians with no condemnation. All under the auspices of the UN.

And the body count continues to grow as Obama, Sarkozy and the UN are determined to let Ouattara turn the Ivory Coast into another Sudan.

Early reports suggested that more than 800 people, largely from the Gbagbo-supporting Gueré tribe, were killed in a single day at the sprawling Salesian Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus mission in Duekoue, 300 miles west of Abidjan towards the Liberian border. The attackers seem to have been largely soldiers descended from Burkina Faso immigrant Muslim families loyal to Ouattara.

These atrocities are not just happening on Obama’s watch– they are orchestrated by the thugs he supports.

Senator Inhofe has stepped up to the plate and called for hearings

“It is now clear, based on U.N. reports coming from Cote d’Ivoire, that mass killings have occurred at the hands of Alassane Ouattara,” Inhofe said. “This calls into question his legitimacy to lead that country. Ouattara is on a rampage, killing innocent civilians, and he must be stopped before this becomes another Rawanda. “The United States must call for an immediate ceasefire to prevent Ouattara and his rebel army from committing a mass slaughter of the Ivorians, especially the many youth with sticks and baseball bats, who are protecting Gbagbo at the presidential palace. “Based on the evidence I have seen, and having spoken with various dignitaries in Africa, I brought the issue of fraudulent elections in Cote d’Ivoire to the attention of Secretary of State Clinton on a couple of occasions spanning the past few months. I have called for the United States to support new elections there, but thus far, these efforts have received very little response or attention. Based on the news that Ouattara has murdered 1,000 people in Duekoue, I hope the U.S. will reconsider its position.

Uma peça de teatro em cena no Reino Unido usa a iconografia cristã para a sua promoção. As autoridades religiosas de Inglaterra protestaram, sem consequências.
Não muito longe deste teatro, um outro amputou um texto clássico de Marlowe para não ofender os muçulmanos; e uma horda de sikhs exigiu que uma peça de teatro que consideravam ofensiva fosse retirada de cena, o que foi imediatamente feito.

O que é que um cristão há-de depreender de tudo isto: que os «artistas» e as autoridades políticas e de segurança não querem saber da sensibilidade religiosa, pelo menos da das pessoas que, à partida, não estão dispostas a usar a violência como meio de protesto.
O que é que um cristão há-de aprender de tudo isto: que, perante a cobardia e incompetência das autoridades políticas e de segurança dos países apóstatas do cristianismo, só há uma maneira de fazer valer as suas razões: a violência.
Será que os cristãos vão começar a agir de acordo com um raciocínio deste tipo? Por quanto tempo mais aceitarão impassivamente ver os seus símbolos profanados e a sua sensibilidade religiosa desprezada, enquanto os preceitos de outras religiões são defendidos pelas autoridades?

'Tis Pity She's a Whore - the Virgin Mary?

This is the poster designed to promote John Ford's 1633 play 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, which is being staged at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. It has been criticised by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leeds for using the image of the Virgin Mary with Christ. Indeed, it seems particularly provocatively timed to be displayed during Holy Week and on the run-up to Easter Sunday. John Grady, from the diocese, described it as 'crass' and a 'marketing stunt'. His Grace is a little puzzled. The play is about Annabella and Giovanni, a brother and sister who involve themselves in an erotic, incestuous relationship in a corrupt and violent Italy. They pursue their illicit passions to the play's dark denoument. Quite what that has to do with Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the donkey is completely beyond His Grace, other than that it's set in Italy and the play has a religious element, just as virtually all of them tended to during that era. His Grace would simply wish to draw the attention of his readers and communicants to a performance of Christopher Marlowe’s Tamburlaine the Great in 2005 at the Barbican Theatre. The text, as written, demands the burning of the Qur'an on-stage with quite few cursings addressed to Mohammed. But the offending sections were cut so the audience did not hear Tamburlaine say that the Prophet was ‘not worthy to be worshipped’ or that he ‘remains in hell’. The artistic director, Simon Reade, said that such phrases ‘would have unnecessarily raised the hackles of a significant proportion of one of the world’s great religions’. This great text was bowdlerised, essentially on ‘health and safety’ grounds. And let us not think that theatres are attuned only to the sensitivities of Muslims: in the same year, some 400 members of the Sikh community descended on the Birmingham Repertory Theatre to demand the play Behzti (‘dishonour’) be cancelled because it caused them offence. The theatre duly obliged. Christians will not, of course, descend upon the West Yorkshire Playhouse, and the theatre won't take a blind bit of notice of anything muttered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leeds. Instead, those who designed the poster will glory in a stunningly effective advertising campaign which has spread the length and breadth of the country without them spending an extra penny. If (as, sadly, it appears) the theatres are once again to be censored by the Lord Chamberlain of equality and diversity, why is Christianity subsumed to what many may consider to be alien religions and foreign faiths? Descubra as diferenças

Uma Bíblia é profanada publicamente numa exposição de «arte» contemporânea em Glasgow; um Alcorão é queimado no interior de uma garagem no País de Gales. Um e outro caso tiveram lugar no Reino Unido.

O que faz a polícia em relação à profanação da Bíblia? Nada. (Provavelmente, ainda bem: as contas far-se-ão mais tarde e a polícia tem mais que fazer).
O que faz a polícia na segunda situação? Prende o profanador do Alcorão que terá que responder em tribunal pelos seus actos.

Não julgo que o facto do profanador da Bíblia ser artista e o do Alcorão do British National Party deva constituir agravante para o o julgamento do crime cometido, se é que foi cometido algum crime.

NB: não tenho qualquer simpatia, antes pelo contrário, pelo BNP. A filiação partidária, porém, é irrelevante para o caso.

Nota final: as autoridades britânicas comportam-se como se a xariá já fosse a lei do reino: zelam pelo respeito pelo Alcorão. Ou terão medo da fúria islâmica? Se têm medo agora que os muçulmanos são «apenas» à volta do 2,4 milhões, o que virá a acontecer perante o aumento do seu número?

On the left is a copy of the Bible, desecrated (at the taxpayer's expense) by Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art. On the right is a copy of the Qur'an, allegedly burned in the garage of BNP member Sion Owens (at his own expense). Contrast the response of the police over this man's decision to burn a copy of the Qur'an with their complete indifference to the desecration of the Bible. The response to that 'exhibit' was measured, but the offence to many Christians was no less palpable. But Sion Owens has been arrested under the Public Order Act. Since when has it been possible to commit a public order offence in the privacy of one's own garage? The Home Office is reported to have ‘absolutely condemned’ the book-burning incident. A statement said: ‘It is fundamentally offensive to the values of our pluralist and tolerant society.’ Curious, that. For there are some who would say precisely the same about the Qur'an. Indeed, Dr Richard Dawkins might even say it of the Bible. The state permits freedom of artistic expression, and the Bible is considered fair game. One cannot coerce the non-believer to revere that to which he or she is completely indifferent and, in an increasingly post-Christian and secular context, the Bible is perhaps no more sacred than the latest Harry Potter book. But we are reminded time and again that the burning of the Qur'an is one of the most offensive acts to Muslims that could be imagined. Certainly, it is sacred to many millions, who assiduously wash even before touching it and keep it on the very top shelf in a place of supreme honour: they take the word of Allah very seriously indeed. And yet, for millions more non-Mulsims, it is nothing but a book, and for some of these millions, a vile book indeed. Certainly - how shall His Grace put it? - not everyone agrees that it is 'God's guidance' on any matter whatsoever. In the UK, there is now pressure even upon public libraries to set aside the Dewy Decimal Classification and place the Qur'an on the top shelf. His Grace has said many times that he is not one to condone the burning of books; that is, unless he is cold and has run out of logs. And he certainly would never condone causing gratuitous offence. But there is an emerging state coercion here which is moving perilously close to the need for an 'I am Spartacus' moment: not, in any sense, either to support the odious BNP or to cause offence to Muslims; but to stick two fingers up to the ubiquitous, illiberal totalitarianism which denies freedom of expression by negating the right to offend against the supposed sensibilities of minorities. The doctrine of the state is compelling respect and enforcing reverence for that which the majority may consider profane. That is not only an offence against democracy: it is an offence against the conscience and a negation of the religious liberties for which (inter alia) His Grace laid down his life. Nada disto é novo, mas as provas confirmam o que já se sabia: os terroristas palestinianos disparam os seus projécteis semi-artesanais (e, mais recentemente, não tão artesanais, graças à «ajuda humanitária» proveniente de diversos países islâmicos, com o Irão à cabeça, e com a nova situação política no Egipto a tornar a fronteira sul de Gaza mais permeável), os terroristas palestinianos, dizia, disparam os seus projécteis a partir de zonas residenciais, o que dá origem a situações de vantagem para os terroristas qualquer que seja a opção dos israelitas: se não retaliam, os terroristas continuam a disparar; se os israelitas retaliam, cai-lhes a opinião pública internacional em cima, porque atacaram áreas residenciais.

VIDEO - Videos uploaded to the World Wide Web by members of Izz al-Din al-Qassam, Hamas' military wing, show the firing of rockets from civilian centers in the Gaza Strip thereby confirming IDF claims.   The videos clearly show Qassam rockets being fired from civilian centers such as mosques and near civilian vehicles.   Gaza terror cells choose to fire from urban areas knowing that the Israel Defense Forces refrain from intercepting them for fear of hurting civilians. The killing of civilians in Gaza also serves the terrorists' purposes who claim Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza.

Watch the firing of Qassams from the heart of residential area

The terror groups have for the large part refrained from presenting documentation of firing carried out from urban areas so as not to play into the hands of Israeli PR.   Criticism against attacks from residential areas has been heard inside Gaza as well. Gaza police spokesman Aiman Batnigi warned the firing squads last weekend against operating inside or near to civilian centers after one attack left several Palestinians dead.   Last Friday, a mother and her daughter and one other man were killed in one of the IDF's strikes in Gaza after mortar shells were fired from the heart of a residential area.

The number of rocket attacks on Israel has decreased considerably since the weekend, which saw dozens of mortar shells and rockets fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel's south.

No mortar shells or rockets were fired in the last 48 hours apart from one Qassam rocket which hit the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council on Sunday. The IDF did not strike Gaza during this time.   A senior Palestinian source claimed Monday that Israel and the terror groups had reached an unwritten agreement for a state of calm. (O sea que para salvar el Planeta los ecologistas destruyen la naturaleza, al final solo quedará una inmensa piedra con mucho carburante. ) El valle y la selva es destruído para pülanmtar sus palmeras (de mierda) Los monos y orangutanes ya no tienen espacio para vivir.

La organización de protección animal:  International Animal Rescue cuenta de de una orangutana con su familia que por desesperación fue a un pueblo habitado por bestias humanas y robó un poco de fruta para darsela a su cría. En el pueblo de  Peniraman como buenos seguidores de la Religion de la Paz le aplicaron la charía a la orangutana.

El populacho cazó al padre y ató a la madre con su bebé, la golpüearon con caños y hierros, a ella y a sus crías luego ataron a la madre y al bebé sobrevivientes y les apedrearon , no contentos con ellos la dejaron morir de sed .

con su última fuerza la madre trata de proteger a su cría hasta que cxae inconsciente y muere. Al bebé lo recogió la sociedad protectora International Animal Rescue donde se repone en sus instalaciones.  Siehe…

Univ. para estudo dos milagres islâmicos

En Egipto, proponen la creación de una universidad de los milagros científicos del Sagrado Corán, y en Arabia Saudí curan el cáncer con excrementos de camello.

Según la prestigiosa Agencia Islámica de Noticias (AIN, por sus siglas en español) la creación de una universidad dedicada al profundo estudio de los milagros científicos del Sagrado Corán, fue propuesta por  “los participantes de las ceremonias en homenaje a los ganadores de las competencias internacionales de los milagros científicos del Sagrado Corán y de la Tradición Profética, llevada a cabo el 29 de marzo en la Universidad Al Azhar del Cairo, en Egipto”

Pero ¿En qué consiste “un milagro científico” basado en el Sagrado Corán? . La respuesta, se encuentra en una noticia de enorme interés publicada en enero de 2010 en el diario saudí The Gazette.

The Gazette, afirma que:  “Tras largos años de rigurosas investigaciones la reconocida científica saudí Faten Abdel-Rahman Khorshid, ha descubierto que la leche y orina de camello curan el cáncer. La doctora Khorsid, que es miembro de la Universidad King Abdul Aziz, y cuyo equipo obtuvo la medalla a la innovación tecnológica del año 2008 en Arabia Saudí, afirma que fue inspirada por el Profeta en su labor científica, y más concretamente cita un sabio hadith de Al-Bukhari, como fundamento de sus descubrimientos. Según la investigadora, sus pócimas a base de leche y orina de camello, neutralizan los cánceres de pulmón, colon, mama, estómago…así como la leucemia y los tumores en el cerebro. Por otro lado, sus ungüentos naturópatas elaborados con excrementos de camello  también son eficaces contra determinadas afecciones cutáneas”

Mais dados sobre o massacre no Rio.

Aos poucos aparecem mais dados que revelam que o assassinato promovido numa escola do Rio de Janeiro foi inspirado pela propaganda islâmica, e o silêncio em torno dessas informações por parte das televisões só reforça a percepção obtida a partir destes dados. Talvez seja este o primeiro atentado islamista a atingir o Brasil, constituindo assim um triste marco, mas é importante lembrar que as investigações em torno da queda do Airbus no voo 447 da Air France há dois anos continuam e há fortes indícios de que se tratou de um atentado, e que grupos islamistas estão por detrás disso. Para os leitores não familiarizados com a América do Sul, observo que o regime de Chavez, aliado do PT no Brasil, possui uma aliança explícita com o Irão e com os grupos terroristas palestinos, e que há uma comunidade islâmica numerosa e afluente bem instalada na região conhecida como Tríplice Fronteira, entre o Brasil, a Argentina e o Paraguai, uma zona especializada no contrabando de armas e de drogas. Ainda considero importante lembrar que estes não seriam os primeiros atentados muçulmanos em terras latino-americanas, tendo sido o primeiro o ataque contra a Associação Mutual Israelita Argentina em Buenos Aires, em 1994, atentado que envolveu os serviços secretos iranianos e, tudo indica, teve o consentimento do próprio presidente argentino na altura, o descendente de sírios Carlos Saul Menem "Akil". The art of disproportion

Individuals who criticize Israel’s response to rocket attacks are obviously clueless about the rules of war.   Over the past several days, Israel’s southern region has been bombarded by a barrage of rockets and mortar shells from the Hamas-led Gaza Strip. It is important to understand that our southern border had not previously been privy to a period of exceptional calm and relative normalcy, but rocketed and bombed repeatedly, on a daily basis, by various terrorist groups throughout the Strip. However, these attacks have intensified over the recent days, and Israel, as she typically does, is responding with precision air strikes against Hamas terror cells and weapons compounds, attempting to inflict maximum damage on its targets while avoiding civilian casualties on the ground.   The recent escalation has prompted calls for a “serious response” from various Israeli officials, ranging from continued airstrikes throughout the weekend to a “Defensive Shield” type operation such as the one proposed by former Israeli national security advisor Giora Eiland. Despite what anyone may believe, there hasn’t been a single instance in the history of warfare where a clear victor has emerged after inflicting “proportional force” against its enemy. One of the most basic understandings in war is that, naturally, one side must inflict superior damage on the other in order to force its surrender or capitulation. Israel, undoubtedly influenced by immense international pressure, is unable to respond in such a manner that would force Hamas militants to cease their attacks and restore quiet and calm on the border, simply because in doing so, she would be using “disproportionate” force in order to accomplish this objective.   And imagine for a moment if we did respond proportionately. Each time Hamas or Islamic Jihad indiscriminately fires a Qassam or mortar shell into Israel, threatening civilians on a daily basis, Israel returns the favor. When a Hamas terror cell deliberately fires an anti-tank missile at a clearly marked school bus full of children, Israel intentionally fires artillery shells into a kindergarten playground in Gaza City. In essence, this would be the proportionate response. Perhaps we can delude ourselves into believing the international community would accept such strategy.   Israel must respond disproportionately   If Hamas hasn’t made it clear enough to the international community about its strategy and intentions, I will try to summarize it clearly: Israel has no right to exist.   The organization deliberately attacks civilian areas, which constitutes a war crime and is a violation of international law. The Hamas charter openly calls for the violent destruction of Israel and rules out any chance of meaningful peace negotiations with the Jewish state.   As Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar sees it, "Palestine is Islamic, and not an Islamic emirate, from the river to the sea, that unites the Palestinians. Jews have no right in it.” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum puts it even more eloquently, stating that “the Jewish faith does not wish for peace nor stability, since it is a faith that is based on murder…Israel is based only on blood and murder in order to exist, and it will disappear, with Allah's will, through blood and martyrs.”   Advertisement     Imagine for a moment if Israel were to respond even “proportionally” to these actions and statements.   When London was bombarded in World War II, England firebombed German towns and leveled Dresden completely. In order to end WWII, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan, a non-nuclear state at the time. I doubt anyone would argue that Russia’s actions in Chechnya were “proportionate” in any sense of the word.   In response to tragic events such as 9/11 and multiple terrorist attacks around Europe, the international community has waged overt wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya (albeit for very different purposes) and clandestine wars in several others. Yet the world nonetheless becomes hysterical when Israel rises up to defend herself against the unrelenting assault on her southern communities.   As our southern towns continue to come under heavy fire, Israel must respond disproportionately until normalcy and calm are reestablished and our waning deterrence has been restored.
