Tal como na Áustria e na Suécia, na Alemanha os coptas não estão a salvo da perseguição religiosa que os muçulmanos tradicionalmente movem contra eles. Será que tiveram a ingenuidade de pensar que estariam a salvo dessa perseguição na Europa apóstata, também referida como "pós-cristã"?

Bishop Anba Damian, head of the Coptic Church in Germany, told Bild am Sonntag newspaper that he had asked the government for special protection out of fear his church's followers would be targeted.

"Before Christmas, the internet was full of threats against us," he said. "The police have warned us several times of the danger of attacks by radical Muslims. I have therefore written to the Interior Ministry and asked for protection."...

Deputy chairwoman of the conservative Christian Democratic Union and Education Minister Annette Schavan called on the Egyptian government to more clearly distance itself from such religious attacks.

"Muslim authorities in Cairo and elsewhere must take an unambiguous position against all forms of violence in the name of religion," she told daily Hamburger Abendblatt. "They must make clear that they reject violence against other religions."

Greens parliamentary leader Volker Beck told the Frankfurter Rundschau that Egypt and other states such as Nigeria that had recently experienced religious attacks had to act more firmly to stamp out such violence. "A condemnation of such attacks is not enough," Beck said. "Egypt and other states must firmly confront the demon of religious intolerance."...

"The West, out of foreign policy considerations, systematically looks the other way," Beck said.... Hans-Peter Uhl, foreign and security spokesman for the Christian Social Union - the CDU's Bavarian sister party - warned violence by Islamic extremists could spill over into Germany. É impressionante como os jornalistas conseguem sempre encontrar um especialista no islão disposto a fazer afirmações apaziguadoras, que ressoam na mente ocidental mas são absorvidas, sem qualquer eco, na mente dos que efectivamente conhecem e praticam a religião islâmica. The Quran on My Mind

Remarkable german documentary about the gradual radicalisation and moral deroute of Barino Barzoum. Son of a coptic christian father and german catholic mother. It details how the Quran disguises seeds of hate and scorn as indisputable opinions of the creator of the universe. This mixture of ruthlessnes and worship has a very interesting albeit devastating influence on the believer. Making an otherwise intelligent person loose his natural capacity for making moral judgements. Highly recommended for anyone intererested in the psychology of islamic mindgames and memes I went through the trouble of translating and subtitling this one myself mainly because I consider it the most important german documentary about Islam. In the sequel which I hope I will be able to translate at a later time, Barino leaves Islam and joins the church of the coptic christians. And today he is one of the most dedicated and outspoken people in germany warning against the threat of radical Islam. I have this gut feeling that a day will come when everybody will know who Barino is, and thought it would be good to present this record of his years in the Abu Bakr Mosque to an international audience. Yes, Qur'an 4:34 really does say "beat them." Perhaps if Muslim apologists -- professional and amateur -- and spokespeople spent less time trying to convince Western audiences that the Qur'an doesn't really quite say what it says, and focused that same level of effort instead on stopping their coreligionists' alleged "misunderstandings" (including imams) and "cultural" misconduct, there would be fewer stories like this for us to so rudely report on.

Of course, real progress would require a forthright acknowledgment of the contents of the Qur'an. No more tap-dancing around "context" or playing the "lost in translation" card. And no more trying to excuse the inexcusable.

Oh, and just for a touch of irony, what has the imam been lecturing about at the Catholic university in Munich? Non-violence.

A Muslim imam who lectures on non-violence and advises the German government on interfaith issues has been arrested in Germany for beating up his wife. Sheikh Abu Adam, 40, is now on remand in Munich while his wife, 31, is being guarded by police. She was allegedly assaulted so badly that she suffered a broken nose and shoulder and numerous cuts and bruises. Media reports claimed the woman, who has borne one of his ten children, wanted to live a more 'western' lifestyle and was allegedly attacked after telling her husband. The police said they received a call from a lawyer hired by the victim. Adam is alleged to have shouted a verse from the Koran at his wife as he beat her.

Islamic apologists in the West routinely insist that Muslims aren't really supposed to beat their wives at all, or that if they are, they should only beat them lightly, and that Muhammad said to beat one's wife only with a toothbrush. They never mention, of course, how Muhammad's favorite wife, Aisha, recounted the time when Muhammad "struck me on the chest which caused me pain." Chancellor Angela Merkel urged Germans debating Muslim integration to stand up more for Christian values, saying Monday the country suffered not from “too much Islam” but “too little Christianity.”

Addressing her Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, she said she took the current public debate in Germany on Islam and immigration very seriously. As part of this debate, she said last month that multiculturalism there had utterly failed.

Some of her conservative allies have gone further, calling for an end to immigration from “foreign cultures” — a reference to Muslim countries like Turkey — and more pressure on immigrants to integrate into German society.

Merkel told the CDU annual conference in Karlsruhe that the debate about immigration “especially by those of the Muslim faith” was an opportunity for the ruling party to stand up confidently for its convictions.

“We don’t have too much Islam, we have too little Christianity. We have too few discussions about the Christian view of mankind,” she said to applause from the hall.

Germany needs more public discussion “about the values that guide us (and) about our Judeo-Christian tradition,” she said. “We have to stress this again with confidence, then we will also be able to bring about cohesion in our society.”

Estas e outras afirmações de Sarrazin mereceram-lhe a passagem à categoria de pária da sociedade progressista alemã.

Acontece que, sendo social-democrata de créditos firmados, se torna difícil aos progressistas chamar-lhe fascista - arma preferida dos que, sem ter argumentos, em desespero, decidem desqualificar o oponente -, e sendo um profundo conhecedor dos assuntos financeiros, se torna complicado desqualificar os seus juízos sobre o impacto da emigração muçulmana na história económica recente da Alemanha.

El libro “Alemania se desintegra”, del ex directivo del Bundesbank Thilo Sarrazin, que critica duramente a los musulmanes, se ha convertido en el segundo libro de no ficción de contenido político más vendido de la década en Alemania, detrás de “Stupid White Men”, de Michael Moore.

Así lo informó la organización “Media control”, tras una revisión especial de las cifras de libros más vendidos de los últimos diez años.

“Media control” no ha comunicado las cifras exactas de ventas pero indica que el libro de Sarrazin, aparecido en agosto pasado, ya se ha vendido más que el best-seller “Ausser Dienst” del ex-canciller alemán Helmut Schmidt.

En su libro, que lleva el subtítulo “Como ponemos nuestro país en juego”, Sarrazin -que durante su etapa como senador de Finanzas de Berlín había levantado ampollas- dibuja un escenario en el que pronostica una islamización de Alemania en el curso de las próximas décadas.

“No quiero que el país de mis nietos y biznietos sea un país mayoritariamente musulmán, en el que se hable árabe y turco predominantemente, en el que las mujeres lleven el pañuelo islámico y en el que la vida cotidiana esté marcada por la llamada a oración del muecín”, escribe Sarrazin, del Partido Socialdemócrata (SPD).

Cerca de tres millones de personas de origen turco viven en Alemania y su índice de natalidad es dos veces mayor que el del resto de población.

Sarrazin niega que “los trabajadores turcos y marroquíes” hayan hecho un aporte al bienestar de Alemania, lo que en cambio, dice, sí se puede afirmar sobre los portugueses, los españoles y los italianos.

“En todos los países europeos los inmigrantes musulmanes le cuestan a la sociedad más de lo que aportan debido a su escasa actividad laboral y a los beneficios sociales que reciben”, apunta en el libro.

“Desde el punto de vista cultural y civilizador, las concepciones sociales y los valores que representan son un retroceso. As a teenager in Berlin, Arye Sharuz Shalicar was confronted with anti-Semitism on a daily basis. At school he was called a 'bloody Jew' who 'deserved to die,' while youths on the streets threatened to beat him up because of his religious belief. This was not 1930s Germany. Shalicar grew up in 1990s Berlin, in the predominantly Muslim district of Wedding, where the children of Turkish and Arabic immigrants engaged in gang warfare and the Berlin Wall was simply another surface to spray graffiti on. The 33-year-old now lives in Israel, where he is an army spokesman. Last week, he returned on a rare visit to Germany, where his book has just been published, documenting his violent teenage years in inner city Berlin. He said he still felt uneasy as he returned to the streets of his youth, where he was taunted daily until he earned respect as a gang member. 'There are corners where you don't see a single German. I still don't feel comfortable in Wedding,' Shalicar said. (...) 'Until I moved to Wedding, my Jewish identity did not interest me one bit,' he said. 'It's shameful really, how little I wanted to see that this was my destiny too. I thought we were living in a modern world where other things matter - I guess I was wrong.' When his Jewish identity came to the fore, his many Muslim friends and classmates disowned him and Shalicar risked attacks on his path home from school. He was faced with a choice: live a life of evasion and shame, or fight back. 'The fear I experienced, at the age of 14 or 15, is beyond words. Merkel diz o óbvio: permitir que pessoas de culturas radicalmente opostas à ocidental vivam entre nós sem adoptar as nossas leis e os nossos costumes, mantendo os seus, muitas vezes em flagrante violação dos do país de acolhimento, demonstrou ser um erro.
De lamentar apenas que estas palavras surjam aparentemente como reacção a pressões provenientes do interior do seu partido, e não de uma genuína preocupação com a questão - embora seja de saudar que no interior da Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands (CDU) a questão da islamização da Alemanha tenha adquirido peso suficiente para a levar a pronunciar-se.

REUTERS - Germany’s attempt to create a multicultural society has “utterly failed”, Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday, adding fuel to a debate over immigration and Islam polarising her conservative camp.

Speaking to a meeting of young members of her Christian Democrats (CDU), Merkel said allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to live side by side without integrating had not worked in a country that is home to some four million Muslims.

“This (multicultural) approach has failed, utterly failed,” Merkel told the meeting in Potsdam, south of Berlin.

Merkel faces pressure from within her CDU to take a tougher line on immigrants who don’t show a willingness to adapt to German society and her comments appeared intended to pacify her critics.

She said too little had been required of immigrants in the past and repeated her usual line that they should learn German in order to get by in school and have opportunities on the labour market.

The debate over foreigners in Germany has shifted since former central banker Thilo Sarrazin published a book accusing Muslim immigrants of lowering the intelligence of German society.

Sarrazin was censured for his views and dismissed from the Bundesbank, but his book proved highly popular and polls showed a majority of Germans agreed with the thrust of his arguments.

Merkel has tried to accommodate both sides of the debate, talking tough on integration but also telling Germans that they must accept that mosques have become part of their landscape.

She said on Saturday that the education of unemployed Germans should take priority over recruiting workers from abroad, while noting Germany could not get by without skilled foreign workers. Read more at www.france24.com

A notícia destaca as vantagens da aplicação da sharia nos tribunais alemães na resolução de situações que resultam do modus vivendi islâmico, o qual acaba por requerer soluções provenientes da mesma origem.

Julgo que este é o caminho errado por várias razões: a primeira consiste no incentivo às práticas que levaram ao problemas apresentados em tribunal, neste caso a poligamia; a segunda, prende-se com o facto da existência de duas leis de facto ser corrosiva para uma nação; a terceira, relaciona-se com a tendência para vermos a sharia a aplicar-se em cada vez mais situações.

Em conclusão, ficamos a saber que a Alemanha está num estádio de islamização mais avançado do que julgávamos.

A leading law professor has contradicted Chancellor Angela Merkel’s statement that Sharia law was not practiced in Germany, saying a variety of Sharia-based rulings were being made all the time.

“We have been practising Islamic law for years, and that is a good thing,” Hilmar Krüger, professor for foreign private law at Cologne University, told Der Spiegel magazine. Family and inheritance rulings were often made according to Sharia law, he said, listing a range of examples. Women who are in polygamous marriages legal in their countries of origin can make claims of their husbands in Germany regardless of the fact that their marriages would not be lawful here. They can claim maintenance from their husbands and a share of an eventual inheritance, said Krüger. German judges often refer to Sharia, as the Federal Social Court in Kassel did a few years ago when it supported the claim of a second wife for a share of her dead husband’s pension payments, which his first wife wanted to keep all to herself. The judge ruled they should share the pension. In another case, the Administrative Appeals Court in Koblenz granted the second wife of an Iraqi living in Germany, the right to stay in the country. She had already been married to him and living in Germany for five years, after which the court said it would not be fair to send her to Iraq alone. A judge in Cologne ruled that an Iranian man should repay his wife’s dowry of 600 gold coins to her after their divorce – referring to the Sharia which is followed in Iran. Erlangen lawyer and Islam scholar Mathias Rohe told the magazine that the use of laws from various countries was an expression of globalisation. “We use Islamic law just as we use French law,” he said.
